River Girl Fishing provide all your needs for adventures on or by the New River. The store is located in the old Virginia Creeper Railroad train station in Todd, just 15 minutes from the cabin. They offer fly fishing lessons, river tubing and kayak rental but make sure the water level is high enough to enjoy a smooth ride. If not, rent bikes and cycle Railroad Grade road which was the old rail road track along the banks of the river. This area is so peaceful and picturesque, you're fall in love with it, and look out for the pot bellied pig, the River Girls pet.

It was a fun way to spend a few hours fishing when our kids were growing up. You only pay for what you catch. They will filet them or take them back to the cabin whole and put them on the grill. Highly recommend!

Sky Valley Ziplines offer zip flights through the clouds, with 10 ziplines, a vertical cliff drop, and a swinging bridge over a waterfall. There's a kids zipline for the younger crowd. They also offroad 4WD adventures.

From Mt. Mitchell 6684' to the south, highest in the Eastern USA to Mt, Rodgers 5729' to the north, highest in Virginia and everything in between: The Peak, Three Top and Bluff Mountains, Mount Jefferson, Grandfather Mountain, and the Iron Mountains in Virginia and Tennessee.

Great 1 mile round trip hike to a beautiful cascading waterfall. Ideal for all, from kids to active seniors, and all seasons unless it’s icy. We’ve seen the falls with snow on the ground and they’re beautiful. Tip: take a photo of the of the trails at the car park. Trails are color coded but can be confusing, and you can hike twice the distance if you take a longer trail.
