This is our favorite restaurant in the area. It is conveniently located near the entrance to town. It is part of Plaza Tangara, which has several nice shops, including a pharmacy, a doctor's office, a Belgian beer bar, a small international grocery store, and a beauty salon and spa, Nourish.

This is by far the best Mexican food restaurant in the region. We highly recommend it!

Absolutely delicious and authentic French bakery and restaurant.
Very good, authentic New York style pizza, as verified by Dee, a Brooklyn native. They also have falafel and bagels. Great place to go with kids!

This is the largest grocery story in the area. We recommend stopping here on your way to the house to get essentials like groceries, laundry detergent, favorite Costa Rican snacks, etc. It will take about 25 minutes from BM to the house.
However, there are also three small markets in Ojochal along the main road when you need just a few items.
Also, the nearest ATM is across the street from BM. While the vast majority of transactions can be made by credit card, you will on occasion need cash. Dollars are always accepted, in addition to Colones.

Gorgeous waterfall just a five-minute walk down from the house! There is a $5 admission. The short hike is a bit slippery and steep in places but well worth it. Bring a bathing suit!

We get a lot of rain so pack accordingly. Bring shoes you don't mind getting wet and muddy.
