Our family loves to take walks here. It's wonderful for families since the trails are easy. You can also visit the resident owls and other birds they care for there. Our son Elliott loves catching frogs at the pond there.

If this is your first visit to Mystic, then you have to visit the bridge. This historic structure goes up every hour to allow boats to pass up and down the Mystic River. It's a 10-minute walk from our house.

Another wonderful place to go or a short walk is the Knox Preserve. It's a favorite of our family's for exploring the beach for hermit crabs and snails, while also getting in a walk in the woods. You can even put in a paddle board here to see the sights by water.

To get to Stonington Point, which offers stunning views of the Sound, you need to drive through Stonington Borough. Both are worth the short drive from our place. The Borough offers eclectic shopping and great dining, while the Point is close to the historic lighthouse.
