This is a great spot to grab coffee and tacos in the morning or lunch or dinner. Outdoor seating with ping pong table and "corn hole" or "bags" make it a nice meet-up spot with friends. Also, the salted chocolate chip cookie is insanely good. So is the cold brew!

Living in East Austin is a vegan paradise. Not only are there many vegan restaurants, but there is a food trailer park that is all vegan. Vegan Nom and Burger Nom are two highlights there. The Birdie Sanders taco is a favorite. The Nashville fried "chicken" is also great over at Burger Nom!

Wondering where Nitro Cold Brew originated? This is the spot. Don't leave Austin without trying their Nitro on tap. They also have breakfast tacos from Taco Deli (another Austin favorite) and good bakery snacks too. If you don't love cold brew, they have all the other coffee options too!

One of my favorite East side spots. Great selection of in-house beers and outdoor seating. Also, if you are looking for something other than Austin tacos, Lazarus has some of the best tortas in town. Oh, and if you're over the alcohol, they have root beer on tap!

Previously a neighborhood with small, eclectic houses, Rainey street is now a bustling street of bars, restaurants, and food trailers. You're sure to find something you like down here and it's walking distance from the house. A few favorites down on Rainey: G'Rag Mahal has great Indian food, and Lucille's has great outdoor space and drinks. Also, don't miss the sausages and BBQ at Banger's.

If it's good enough for Lady Gaga... This late-night french inspired restaurant is as much a scene as it is a restaurant. In the summer/spring, the patio is alive with jasmine smells and in the winter, the dramatic tent with chandeliers is just as fantastic. There is a civil-war style photo booth out back while you wait for your table. Steak and frites is a favorite, as is the pork chop.

This is my hood and I love it! It's got a great, laid-back vibe and is quiet while being close to the best of Austin. Walk to Rainey Street, East 6th Street, and Lady Bird Lake (Town Lake). Also, check out all the best ATX restaurants tucked throughout the eclectic East Austin neighborhoods.

Walk, bike, scooter to most things

There are lots of restaurants, bars, and outdoor activities just steps from the house. Easily scooter or bike to downtown or South Congress. Head up Chicon street and hit the bike path on 4th street that leads straight into downtown or hit the hike and bike trail along the lake toward downtown and South Congress.
