It's become the hub of the town - locally owned and staffed by locals make this corner restaurant (using a lot of local produce and CRAFT BEER made by our very own local brewer) a must do for casual dining!

Neighbourhoods

Safe & sound, Clean & green - gorgeous little township that is well worth spending some time at. Enjoy a take-away coffee or brunch at one of the charming little cafes. See some local art at the Dayboro Art Gallery DAG offers you a unique experience rarely found in many galleries, as it is run by the artists themselves. You have the opportunity to meet and greet, and be inspired by a different artist every day of the week. Have a poke around the great vintage shops, book shop café and walk the town’s heritage trail. It starts at "Dayboro Cottage" 27 Williams St Dayboro, at the site of the old Dayboro Railway. Also the home of the Dayboro District Historical Society and the oldest residence in Dayboro still on its original site. There are 17 buildings listed in the brochure with a short description of each building and a photograph or you can just hunt for the orange markers. The oldest building is "Hay Cottage" which was built about 1871 on a farm at Rush Creek. The Dayboro Heritage Trail is one of the Moreton Bay Regional Council's self guided walks designed to help visitors get to know the history of the Moreton Bay Region. Accessible and easy level walk for all ages and fitness. The Dayboro Market happens on the first Sunday of each month 8am to 12 noon. Cnr William & Heathwood Sts, opposite the IGA and the bakery.

Just 30 mins from Cascade Cottage. Along Cedar Creek Road are lots of parks and reserves to pull up, enjoy a picnic, play along the freshwater creek or splash in the rock pools - larger waterfalls and swimming holes are at the end of the road. It's not cold, it's refreshing!

Continue on to Mt Mee, until Sellin Road, a left turn from the main road that heads towards and into the forest reserve with several bush walking tracks. Follow Sellin Rd to the entrance of the park 391-481 Sellin Rd, Mount Mee and about 150m further in is the main picnic and day use area, The Gantry, which contains the relic shed from the sawmill industry that once operated up here and closed in 1981. Plenty of room for the kids to run around in. Two bush walks start from adjacent to The Gantry: the shorter easy grade 1 km Piccabeen Trail circuit with info about the logging industry that used to occur or the medium grade 3-4 hr Somerset Trail, a 13km circuit through scribbly gum and eucalypt with views of Somerset Dam. https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/daguilar/journeys/somerset-trail

Like a scenic drive? From Dayboro take the road out and turn-off just outside of town to Mt Mee. Along the way is a llama cottage (stop and see the llamas) and Ocean View Estate Winery which does good food as well as wine. Towards the top of the Mt Mee ridge don’t miss a visit to the quirky memorabilia-covered tin shed that is Pitstop Café, with the most stunning views of all.

Picnics and lakes

A peaceful expanse of water and often forgotten local beauty which is home to a wide variety of birds, fish and native animals. Lots of water sports, picnic areas, walk along the dam wall and you can fish (permits through the Queensland Government Fisheries Department.) The big wide open park has the most stunning of watery backdrops. It's simply a great place to enjoy a picnic lunch with friends or even just relax and enjoy a good book. Then pull out your kayak and get paddling!

Art and lifestyle trail

Either a trail that leads the way to local artists and boutique businesses that runs on the last weekend of each month, or a map for every Saturday. The mapped trail stretches from Woodford through Dayboro to Samford and includes gorgeous art galleries, open studios, workshops, yoga, horse riding, food and much more. It is largely a self-drive trail but Danielle does offer a bespoke tour with Brisbane Nature Tours. That's if you prefer not to drive the country roads, or wish for a more relaxed experience.
