For authentic Memphis Blues music, Beale Street is your best bet and BB King’s is our fav there. You might want to Uber or Lyft as parking is expensive.

There’s no way to explain Raiford’s Disco or describe the experience. It's a crazy, fun, unique, foggy dance party time warp. Prepared to get sweaty and have an amazing time! The party gets started about 11p.m.

Old-fashioned blues bar with great drinks and lots of ambiance. Home of the Famous Blues Band Juke Joint Allstars. Wild Bill's Memphis offers Music, Food and Blues. The last surviving juke joint in the Delta, and the single greatest place in the City of Memphis. Know that there is smoking allowed inside and it's BYOB on Fri & Sat nights (they also sell beer).

Parks & Nature

Overton Park is a shady, scenic treasure within walking distance. One of the few remaining old growth forests in TN, it has well marked trails for running, walking, or biking, “Overton Bark” dog park, two fun playgrounds, the Memphis Zoo, Brooks Museum of Art, and a 9-hole golf course with a green fee of only $7! It’s about a 20 minute walk (or quick jog) down Sam Cooper to the bike entrance (pictured to the right) for running trails and one of the playgrounds, or a short drive to the other side from Poplar Ave. for the other amenities.

Shopping

The Boutiques & Shops on Broad Ave. are fun to visit, but are usually only open mid-morning to early evening & closed on Mondays. Recently Paint Memphis added tons of graffiti murals all around the area that are worth checking out. Also, if you’re here on a First Friday of the month, there are usually Art Walks, scavenger hunts, dance parties, and more!
