McGuffey Park is one block off of the mall with a modern playground and picnic benches. There is free parallel parking on side-streets nearby. Additionally, the Water Street Parking Garage and Market Street Parking Garage are located on either side of the mall.

Instead of hiking to the top of the mountain, this hike offers a variety of classic Virginia elements (open views, wooded paths, river crossings, and plenty of elevation change).
