Local live music in multiple venues in the Marigny neighborhood. The Spotted Cat, DBA, Blue Nile, Snug Harbor, and one of my favorites...the Royal Frenchmen Hotel. You will find Jazz, Funk, Brass, and Rock. There's an art market open on most weekends.

Located on Royal St, my favorite street in the FQ. Royal House offers oysters raw and cooked in so many different ways. It has a laid back atmosphere with balcony seating or you can just order and eat at the bar. The staff is very friendly, and there's usually live music on the street corner. I love the sautéed crab claws (with bread for the sauce),grilled or raw oysters, and the baked shrimp tortellini. $$

Italian/Pizza

Located in the lower, residential side of the FQ. Locals love this restaurant. It's quirky, romantic, and adorned with hundreds of hand-drawn Mona Lisa's from its many patrons. The pizza is delicious and my favorite pasta is the Seafood Pasta. If there's a wait, just go to the "Golden Lantern" bar across the street and they will text you when your table is ready. $
