We are only about 45 mins drive from Taronga Western Plains Zoo. Weekdays are the best time to visit. And definitely try to avoid long weekends if you can. The best way to get around the zoo is to hire bikes and take a picnic lunch. Go first thing in the morning when the animals are more active - they tend to sleep in the middle of the day - especially during the warmer months.
