Sightseeing
is a spectacular beach just north of Matapouri. It’s only accessible by a 10 minute walk from the carpark, and it is well worth a visit. From the carpark there is also a loop track that takes you past Whale Bay, Peppley Bay, Matapouri and back to the carpark.

Sandy Bay
great for surfing and you can always hire a board from Tutukaka Surf.
This is a walkway from the far end of the lighthouse road, while steep at times, this track offers spectacular views. Access is cut off to the track for a few hours either side of high tide so don’t start the walk on an incoming tide.
