Food scene

Great option for breakfast or lunch. Very reasonable prices. Often a line on weekends so get there early.
Great authentic New Mexican food. Started off as a popular eatery in a dark corner of a bowling alley. Now has several locations that are much more upscale but have retained the original great value and tasted of New Mexico. I highly recommend the chicken enchiladas, flat with a "christmas" sauce ( mix of green and red chile). Unless you are sharing a dish or have an enormous appetite, get the small portions!

Great service and selection of beers. $4.75 for a 16 ounce pour is hard to beat. Their food is simple but good and often there is live music. The back patio is also very nice and relaxing.

The tramway ride to the top of the Sandia mountain is breathtaking. It is the 2nd longest tram in the world and spans deep canyons. The views from the top are great, especially near sunset. Dress warmly!
