Falling Foss is a delightful waterfall, accessed through woodland on either side of Littlebeck and Maybeck. By car, it is on the B1416 road approximately four miles south of Whitby, passing over the bridge through Ruswarp and on to the Red Gate bend. Follow the sign for the parking (Sneaton Forest Car Park) and the picnic area. In the woods nearby, and accessed via a footpath is Midge Hall, a gamekeeper's cottage built in the 1780s and recently renovated in 2008, as Falling Foss Tea Gardens. The Tea Gardens open April to October.

Castle Howard is a magnificent historic house in the north of England, the 18th century residence is set within 1,000 acres of breathtaking landscape just outside York. The Yorkshire stately home boasts world-renowned works of art and stunning architecture having been designed by Sir John Vanbrugh and built with the assistance of Nicholas Hawksmoor. The grounds include lakes, fountains, temples and woodland as well as a formal walled garden and children's adventure playground making Castle Howard the perfect family day out, plus enjoy a changing programme of events, children's trails and a range of cafés and shops including farm shop and garden centre.
