I've culled these locations from my own experience and trips the Nantahala Hiking Club posts in the Franklin Chamber of Commerce enewsletter. I learned of this hike from the Nantahala Hiking Club. They say it is "an excellent secluded 60' waterfall with access to the top and bottom of the falls. Wading or swimming permitted. The trail is fairly easy with two water crossings. 200' climb back out. Total Hike Distance: 3 miles. Rating: Easy. Elevation: 200'

This is one of my favorites. Your drive to the falls is gorgeous, you can walk underneath the falls, and The Veranda Restaurant is a sweet little place on the lake, just a few miles past the parking lot. This one is worth the drive.

Another favorite, and our cabin is only about 20 minutes from the trailhead. This is a more strenuous hike - but it takes you by 2-3 gorgeous waterfalls and up to a peak with a gorgeous view. Well worth the effort. Bring a lunch and enjoy the views!
