Breakfast and Brunch

Some of my favourite places in Sofia for breakfast and brunch
Rainbow factory is tucked away on a small side street and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Alongside some of the best coffee in Sofia, you can enjoy traditional Bulgarian breakfast such as "Banica" (Filo pastry with Feta Cheese) or "Mekici" (Fried dough) served with Jam and Feta Cheese.

Hlebar (Baker) is a bakery store that combines great atmosphere and freshly baked bread. There is a wide variety of baked goods you can enjoy for breakfast. Make sure to try their "Banica" (Filo pastry + Feta Cheese) with a drink of Ayran (Yogurt drink) if you want to have breakfast like a Bulgarian!

Places to visit outside of Sofia

Plovdiv is an ancient city built around 7 hills, in southern Bulgaria and can be easily reached by bus from Sofia. The Regional Archaeological Museum chronicles the city’s history, with exhibits including mosaic panels, clay lamps and early coins. The Roman-era Ancient Theatre of Philippopolis, which once seated around 6,000, now hosts opera and concerts.
