Food Scene

Jalan Alor is a unique food destination in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Some of the best culinary delights that Malaysia has to offer are not at the swanky overpriced restaurants but right at the sidewalks, in the rows and rows of hawker stalls. Here, you are not just tasting the food here but also the culture in Malaysia. Diversity does not just exist in the population but that very factor that makes Malaysia so special is also translated in its cooking.

Shopping

Kuala Lumpur’s independent shopping scene is concentrated around the inner city, with Bukit Bintang and KLCC acting as the capital’s epicentre for fashion and entertainment. Along Jalan Bukit Bintang, you will find that the city has gone into overdrive when it comes to retail offerings, with more than nine major malls within a four-km distance of each other. What’s more the free Go KL city shuttle bus makes a circuit of the area, making it even easier to mall-hop. This fashion precinct has something for everyone: if you are looking for luxury, Starhill Gallery and Pavilion KL are the spots for you with Gucci, Hermes and Louis Vuitton under their roofs. What’s more, Berjaya Times Square (home to the country’s largest indoor theme park), offers shopping, leisure and dining venues that encompass several blocks, while those hunting for the latest gadgets and gizmos should head to Low Yat Plaza, a mall specialising in all things tech-related.
