Step into the center of our country's most authentic underground scene and experience the atmosphere of the squat house. A completely unique, artistic and psychedelic place to stay in the old wood quarry, Pispala district of Tampere.
In the adjacent, over one hundred-year-old, world-famous Rajaportti sauna, you can jump over the road for wash even with a towel on.
Excellent transport links. Tampere city center is a 20-minute walk away. Pispalanharju sights just outside the door.
The Olo-tila's interior walls are decorated with colorful and skillful paintings that make the viewer break away from the surrounding world.
In the spacious living space two steps down from the sleeping area, there are band instruments that can be used, if desired, for jamming and paying with accommodation provider.
There are three working fireplaces in the room. Use of those is guided on the spot. in winter period the fireplace of the sleeping area is heated once a day to keep the cozy warmth, we will take care of it or load the wood in the fireplace for your convenience, if you want to enjoy the atmosphere of looking at the fire and enjoying its warmth that is completely different from electric heating:) Fireplace also in the backyard by appointment. Firewood payment separately except for heating purposes.
In the immediate vicinity of the Olo-tila, right behind the wall, is the Tattoomika tattoo shop, which offers also short notice service.
Entrance to Olo-tila is from the street. The key is handed personally to the guest. The sleeping space with two slim double beds ( for people who get along well:) is at the back of the space few steps above with wooden floor and a fireplace. During cold winter months only this area is provided warm space for the guests together with kitchen.
The rest of the Olo-tila has big windows towards the road and there are sofas and the music instruments.
In the back side of the space there is door to the kitchen and toilet. The kitchen is equipped with coffee maker, water heater, oven and stove, microwave oven, refridgerator, small freezer and basic food making equipment. Coffee, tea, sugar, olive oil, vinegar etc provided.

Also we warmly recommend the other saunas of the Sauna Capital of Finland, Kaupinoja and Rauhaniemi with year-round swimming and many others. Men and women separated and naked at Rajaportti, mixed with swimwear at Rauhaniemi and Kaupinoja. Always wash your butt before entering the sauna and use butt cover.
Olo-tila is located just 2 km from the citycenter. A stone's throw away, along the Pispalan valtatie, is the famous alternative club Vastavirta (vastavirtadotnet) , where you can participate in concerts on most days of the week, play billiard and hang out with interesting people.
Outside the house there is beautiful sight to Lake Näsi and on the other side of the Pispala hill, at the other end of the Pispala stairs, which starts behind the house, is the Hirvitalo Cultural Center, with its permanent art exhibitions. On the shores of Lake Pyhä in the middle of a paradise green area, is Kurpitsatalo where you can rent a rowing boat or canoe.
A grill food joint with late opening hours few hundred meters away and a small food store about 500m. Pispalan Pulteri restaurant (man food) few hundred meters ahead, arts dealer & exhibition next door, the Rajaportti sauna next door.
The Pispala area is a hill between two lakes. It has unique atmosphere with awesome views and wooden houses but the city center is nearby with great restaurants and night life, karaoke, museums and Särkänniemi amusement park. Tampere all in all has a very open and accepting atmosphere.
The Pyynikki area at the hill between city and Pispala is great place for nature walks, running or some training on the stairs. Also the beautifullest wooden villas are located there.
Movie theater Plevna at the side of Keskustori in center. We don’t dub, we have subtitles :) Really nice museums. Tampere was the head city of the red side in our Civil War year1918 to 1919 and at the highest spot of Pispala is the sad but very beautiful place of the last refugee of the lost part fighters.
