Stunning, quiet little cottage nestled in the hills of Marshwood Vale 3 miles from the sea. Sip wine on the terrace surrounded by wildlife, stargaze from your bed or visit all the wonderful things Lyme Regis, Bridport and this area have to offer.
A delightful little cottage at the edge of a quiet village set in the Marshwood Vale. Wonderful walking through the vale, to the sea, or on the national trust land along the coast, all from your front door or a very short drive. Maps in the cottage and we are happy to help with routes. Although for two it is very spacious, with a large double bedroom, skylight above the bed, (with a blackout blind if you prefer no starlight!) large cottage kitchen diner, sitting room, wonderful bathroom with extra deep enamel bath and drenching shower. Outside you have the decked, covered terrace with masses of seating, comfy chairs and dining chairs/table, and patio heaters. The house is full of character and light, a truly restful place to be with masses to do on your doorstep. The cottage allows for a dog or two, the garden has a dog proof fence around it...unless they are high jumpers. We don't allow them in the bedroom and there is a gate to stop them.
Bonhays Barn is ideally situated for the Jurassic Coast, wonderful walking, watersports and the vibrant local towns of Bridport and Lyme Regis. Bridport with its markets (Weds/Sat), vintage section and wonderful Cafes and restaurants. Lyme Regis is famous for its beauty as a seaside town, restaurants and many festivals throughout the summer.

A friendly welcome into our warm and cosy log cabin set in the cherry orchard along with the use of our spa with the big Jacuzzi and Sauna. The Cabin is set in a lovely cherry orchard in a coastal village on a quiet and historic lane with views of the cliffs. We have had literally hundreds of happy guests who all enjoy the peace and tranquility of our cherry orchard. It is set within the village and so very near great pub/restaurants and shop. It really is a cabin in the orchard!
Enjoy the highly insulated and toasty warm cabin in winter, or lie in the Orchard under the trees. The cabin is 7m x 4m, and you can Barbecue, and visit the Beach and experience the fine local pubs that serve great food and ale. There are 3 pubs within walking distance! Explore the Majestic Cliffs of the Jurassic coast you may even encounter a fossil if you're lucky. Discover BRIDPORT known as “foodie heaven” tasting lots of local cuisine, visit picturesque Lyme Regis and enjoy getting blown off the famous cob. Excellent opportunities for outdoor sports with ample walking, running and cycling trails. Note you are really close to nature i.e. the odd bird and spider make their presence felt as it really is a log cabin in an orchard :-)
The famous Jurassic Coast of Dorset has been awarded World Heritage Site status. The Dorset and East Devon coastline where countless fossils have been found is a remarkable place. The coast includes the highest point on the south coast right here at Seatown of Golden Cap and the historic nearby resort of Lyme Regis. If you like food we are situated in a Foodie heaven, and Bridport will hopefully ring a bell… it is home to the original River Cottage where Hugh started his quest of local, home grown and foraged stuff. Love food, love West Dorset! You'll find fantastic produce grown in the area and that chefs did not wait for celebrities to tell them to cook local. Take the Riverside two-course meal from £16.50 in West Bay, Bridport's harbour. Bang in the middle of this unpretentious fishing harbour, it looks like a large wooden hut sitting on the river Brit. Fish is the speciality, of course, straight from Lyme Bay. Also the Anchor Pub in Burton, for great food, and the Three Horseshoes... Another good place to enjoy fresh seafood is the Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock also fantastic. These guys are committed to local. There's something tasty for all purses.

Our simple cottage and beautiful garden are located just below an Iron Age hill fort, with stunning views over the Marshwood Vale. The cottage, 4 miles from coast, is very light, clean, spacious & comfortable, w/ central heating, 2 wood-stoves & a lovely eat-in kitchen. During summer holidays we rent it by the week starting on a Saturday.
The Cottage, on edge of Marshwood village, includes a kitchen with a large range, living room, small library and beautiful 2 acre garden, with external dining table, summer house, garden furniture and tree house. The stairs to the bedrooms are narrow and a little awkward and lack a handrail. There is a loo and shower on the ground floor and loo and bath on the bedroom floor. There are four bedrooms: two with king size beds, one with two single beds, one with a single bed and trundle bed (when opened there is no room to walk!). The single bedrooms are very small!
West Dorset is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the cottage is surrounded by wonderful, ancient countryside. The Bottle Inn - a country pub - 10 minutes walk away, across open fields. It does great beer, but is pretty run down. There are a number of lovely historic towns a short drive away, including Lyme Regis and Bridport, with good restaurants (Hix in Lyme Regis, River Cottage Canteen and Deli in Axminster, and the Riverside Restaurant in West Bay to name a few) and other attractions. More Details below Food, shopping and eating out Village shops and pubs Sadly Marshwood village shop has closed but the Bottle Inn pub is open for drinks and basic food. In fact the whole thing is pretty basic and a bit down at heal but the beer is good! We like the New Inn pub at Stoke Abbot – good food and atmosphere. There are lovely walks you can do up to Lewesdon Hill, near by – another Iron Age hill fort, though this one covered in trees. Another nice close pub is the Shaves Cross Inn at Shaves Cross – see directions for Bridport. But it has been closed a lot recently. The nearest shops are at Axminster. Take the B1365 from the cottage towards Lyme Regis. Turn right at sign marked ‘Sector’ and continue straight on. This will take you directly to Axminster and is faster than going via the A35 unless you hit a tractor (the road is narrow). Axminster has a butcher (Complete Meats) and fishmonger (MacSorsons), a Tesco, Co-op and smaller food shops, etc, including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s The River Cottage Canteen and Deli, which is both a food shop and restaurant. There is a good, large farm shop (Miller’s) – more a supermarket – on the A35 beyond Axminster, which also has a good fishmonger. It is on the right, just past a petrol station, about 7 mins drive from the station. Lyme Regis is a lovely town, with a good, sheltered and sandy town beach. It does not have a large supermarket but the high street has a smaller Tesco and Co-op and some delicatessens. It also has a very nice fish shop down by the Cob. The Town Mill, near the Mill Bakery, has a very good cheese shop – The Town Mill Cheese shop and a good restaurant and cafe. Finally, Mark Hix has a new restaurant in Lyme Regis with good food and great views. There are some excellent second-hand bookshops. The Philpot Museum, once directed by John Fowles, is good for a visit on a rainy day. There is a local amateur dramatics theatre that sometimes has good shows for kids and a lovely old independent cinema. Near the beach there is a penny arcade and above the beach crazy golf and outdoor table tennis. You used to be able to walk from the cottage to Charmouth and then along the coast to Lyme, but the coastal path is now closed – though you can walk along the shore at low tide. Charmouth is the closest seaside town to the house – it’s 3-4 miles drive by back-lanes (via Wooton Fitzpaine) and you can walk across country to it in about 1,5 hrs, though it’s a longer, steeper walk back. It has shops, cafes, ok pubs and a good butcher but nowhere good to eat. Bridport is another lovely historic town. You can head towards Lyme Regis and then take the A35 East to Bridport. But it is much nicer and a little quicker to take the road from the cottage towards Marshwood, and turn right just after the primary school, pass the church, down Mutton’s Lane. Drive straight through Shaves Cross and Broadoak. You will eventually get to a T-junction. Turn right on the B1362 and you are a few minutes from Bridport. Bridport has a good butcher, Framptons, right under the clock tower and other local shops. It also has supermarkets, including a Waitrose. Palmers, a micro Brewery, has very good wine list as well as beer. Bridport has a market on Wednesday and Saturday morning, which has bric a brac and antiques, not food. We have heard very good things about a new Asian restaurant, Dorshi, specializing in dumplings. West Bay is essentially the port extension of Bridport, with all the trappings of a seaside town: amusement arcades, shops selling rock, etc. It has a lovely seafood restaurant, the Riverside Restaurant and a good beach café with wood burning pizza ovens, etc which his open during the summer. It is also meant to have a good fishmonger. Abbotsbury Swannery, Sub-Tropical Garden and Children’s Farm This is a really good day out for kids if you want something to do. Abbotsbury is about 45 minutes from the house but the three attractions together definitely provide a full day’s entertainment. If you check the Abbotsbury Swannery website it will give you opening times and special events. Crewkerne, another old market town, is about 20 mins from us, has a Waitrose and other shops as well as a very beautiful church. Finally Beaminster is a smaller town with a very good and reasonably priced restaurant called Brassica. It’s been well reviewed in the nationals and is good for lunch and dinner though in-land d rather than on the coast. Beaches Lyme has a good, child friendly town beach. Charmouth has a huge beach. It also has some shops and cafes. The Fossil centre on the beach has organised fossil hunts, etc. Finally, Eype, between Charmouth and West-bay is another good beach, though the narrow lane leading to it can get really jammed with cars in the summer and you should feel confident about reversing long distances before you venture down it. Further away, beyond Westbay, Hive is another good beach with an upmarket beach café/restaurant, The Hive Café, serving seafood etc, But it does get crowded during the summer. Walks There are lots of lovely walks from the cottage, including walks to the coast. Pilsden Pen – 10 minutes away by car – has amazing views. The nearest stately home is Forde Abbey – also 10 minutes away. It has gardens, café and plant nursery. Right above us is Lamberts Castle, you can climb up either through the fields which you enter through the first gate across the road and to the left or up the footpath through the woods which you find if you walk down the lane to the right of the house. It’s ten minutes to the top and has amazing views. Walking to Charmouth is a great walk, which should take about 1.5 hours though it's a steep walk back. For the best coast walks, park at Stonebarrow Hill, to the East of Charmouth (National Trust car park with small shop). There are lots of options – longer and shorter. You can access the beach at one point, down some perilously steep wooden steps. If you make it up to Golden Cap, the highest point on the South Coast, you will be rewarded with great views.

The Old Bakery is a completely self-contained, separate, and secluded apartment with its own entrance, located off the street and at the back of our house. Walking distance from Bridport town centre, it is a perfect haven for a relaxing break.
The flat will surprise you with its lovely sense of space. The garden room faces due east and is light and sunny - perfect for a morning yoga practice (mats provided)! It also has a single day bed, sofa, dining table, and satellite TV. There is a small, completely separate bedroom with a comfortable double bed, plus a bathroom (bath and shower) and a spacious, fully equipped open-plan kitchen: electric cooker with extractor hood, microwave, toaster, fridge and radio, plus another small dining table. There isn't a washing machine but if you are staying for a week or longer we can arrange for you to use the one in the main house. There are washing lines in the yard for drying clothes or wet camping gear, and a safe place to put bicycles overnight. We can provide a single mattress to put down on the lounge floor if you want to bring a fourth guest, and we also have a cot bed for very small children. All bed linen and towels are provided. There is a good wifi connection throughout the flat, and a mobile phone signal, but no land-line telephone. The French windows face onto the small garden area/patio, which is still under construction.
Bridport is as very popular holiday destination, being located as it is within the beautiful Jurassic Dorset coastal area. It is possible to walk to West Bay with its scenic harbour and promenade, or to drive to many other nearby places such as Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Weymouth and Dorchester. There is a twice weekly street market, a small and very interesting museum, an arts centre, the Lyric Theatre (especially good for childrens' events) and the Electric Palace cinema (more live events than film these days), together with a lively community of artists and craftspeople. We also have a vintage market on the last Sunday of the month. Bridport is also host to a film festival, the Bridport Prize for literature, a literary festival and a hat festival - in addition to the annual carnival in August!

The studio provides great value, modern holiday accommodation. It has a wonderful hillside private garden with spectacular far reaching views & sunsets over Charmouth and Lyme Regis. It is perfect for anyone who loves walking & exploring the natural beauty of West Dorset, Devon, Somerset & the Jurassic Coast. The studio at West Bullen is a bright modern self contained studio with a private entrance and hallway as well as a private hillside garden which is accessed up a flight of steps to the left of the studio. There are many stunning walks directly from the studio to the South West Coastal Path as well as sights such as the holloway at Hell's Lane in North Chideock. The seaside hamlet of Seatown is a gentle 45 minute walk via Langdon Woods and there you will find the award winning Anchor pub (tourism pub of the year 2017) which sits overlooking the beach. It serves five star food created with local produce and serves local wines and ale. West Bullen nestles into the side of Hardown Hill which is heather covered national trust land with the most spectacular far reaching views over Lyme Bay to the West, The Marshwood Vale and Lambert's Castle to the North and Golden Cap, Chesil Beach, and Portland to the South East. Hardown Hill is wonderful for walking, taking in the sunsets and views and stargazing. West Bullen is situated up a quiet lane with no through traffic (apart from the local farmer). Tranquil, s/c compact garden studio with lovely views from your bed & beyond in the picturesque hamlet of Ryall. Next to owners' eco-house & midway btwn Lyme Regis & West Bay, its ideally placed for the magnificent walks & wildlife on the doorstep. Footpaths to Golden Cap, beaches, Charmouth, & Marshwood Vale. Local village, Whitchurch Canonicorum, has its own saint & holy well. Bustling Bridport, & Lyme Regis cliffs & restaurants are a short journey. Good local pub food & farm shop nearby.
The Walkers Retreat is a light, bright, compact (5X3m) studio space, detached and adjacent to our ecohouse and offering beautiful views through the east/west light on the rolling green hills of the Marshwood Vale. Thoughtfully designed and newly furnished, it has everything to make it a perfect short stay for one or two people who are keen to explore the attractions of this wonderful part of Dorset. It has a kitchenette with hob, microwave and silent fridge, sink, cutlery and pans. We provide tea and coffee and basic ingredients for breakfast. The living area has a small table and 2 comfy chairs which fold away to maximize use of space. There is a radiator, a small two person sofa and a TV and wifi. There is a separate shower room with shower, toilet and heated towel rail. Towards the back of the space there is a comfortable full size double wooden frame bed with new pocket sprung mattress and cotton linen. Please note the bed is on a solid raised area and head height when standing is limited here.
You can take paths North, South, East or West out of your door and enjoy some wonderful scenery each way. On a clear day, start by going up the (Hardown) hill behind - a ten minute stroll through an SSI heathland to enjoy the panoramic views to Portland, Golden cap, Lyme Regis and beyond. Up here, swathes of bluebells in Spring will be followed by purple sheets of Ling and Bell heathers during the Summer and clumps of giant parasol mushrooms in the Autumn. Coming down the other side of the hill, cross over to 200 acres of National Trust land with its scenic clifftop views and myriad of paths and fields leading to the Golden Cap, past St Wites Well. Or go the other way to the fossil beach and museum at Charmouth, When the tide is out you can walk on to Lyme Regis, the cobb and the attractions and quirky shops of the old town. Alternatively, walk down Butt Lane alongside fields overlooking the sea to reach the ancient smugglers route along Hells Lane (described in Julia Bradburys book on Britains best walks). An atmospheric stroll along the narrowest of lanes with gnarled tree roots often at head height past etchings in the sandstone rock on each side, then finally out the other end in to the “normal world” through to the small town of Chideock. You can then walk further on to Seatown where there is an excellent pub with great food by the beach. Returning to Chideock you can catch the bus a couple of miles on to the historic rope-making town Bridport with its eclectic mix of shops and people and a regular vintage market. Stop by cafe (Soulshine) before continuing to West Bay (approximately a mile round the corner) with its famous cliffs (the setting for Broadchurch), smart cafe/gallery, Sladers yard and small antique market. There are several good restaurants here and also a fantastic fishmonger with takeaway packs of fresh shellfish. You can get the bus back to the end of our lane hourly and a cab if in the evening (see below). Walking in a different direction yet again, inland, there is a lovely walk via our local village Whitchurch canonicorum taking in the Church of St Candida/St Wite) known as the Cathedral of the Vale, parts of which date back to 12th Century. Interred within for over 700 years is the Shrine of St Wite; the only other church in Britain with a similar shrine is Westminster Abbey. From this, you can walk (or cycle/drive) to Wootten Fitzpaine with some beautiful wildflower meadows where rarities such as Corky fruited water dropwort can be spotted along with more common drifts of wild narcissus, red clover, yellow rattle and various spotted orchids. Beyond this, Charmouth Forest has huge wooded areas of bluebells in Spring and makes a lovely walk through beech trees flanked in places by masses of Asplenium scolodenrium ferns. Venturing further afield, Trinity Hill, home of Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and nearby Trill Farm; the latter set in magnificent wildflower meadows provide further attractions at specific times of the year. For horse-lovers, riding can be arranged very locally over the national trust land overlooking the sea. On a rainy day, the small museum at Lyme intriguingly set out around a spiral staircase provides a fascinating distraction. Continue on to the many quirky shops and fossil centre, perhaps taking coffee at the Giants and Idols coffee shop in Silver St or a light lunch at cafe Aroma set down below. Later on, the Harbour Inn near the Cobb is a good place to stop for an evening meal. After a day exploring, you can return to see hawks and buzzards priming the fields, horseshoe bats rising and dipping across the hill and the odd deer flitting across the lane. At nighttime, Owls and badgers are frequent visitors, (there is a badger trail at the foot of our garden), Nightjars and Glow worms can sometimes be seen round the corner on and around Hardown Hill in July (this makes a wonderful moonlit walk less than 10 minutes away). Eat out at several excellent nearby pubs (The Anchor Inn in Seatown is consistently good and reasonably priced) or The Olive Tree in Bridport is very popular; for a special occasion, The Station Kitchen in West Bay mostly set within a railway carriage is very good. Axminster also offers the popular River Cottage Canteen and a good pizza place (The Pisani). Alternatively, eat in with fresh produce from the award winning farm shop, at the end of our road!

Cosy cottage in a tucked away position. This Grade 2 listed cottage is small but perfectly formed. Completely refurbished with new kitchen and bathroom and with everything you could need for your holiday home. New for winter - cosy woodburning stove.
This quirky listed cottage is part of a row of former ropemakers' homes and we think it's at least 200 years' old. It is very cosy with a separate lounge and small kitchen downstairs. There's a wood burning stove in the lounge (as well as full central heating) to make winter nights extra cosy. On the first floor there's a bathroom with shower and the master bedroom. On the second floor, under the eaves, is another double bedroom with two single beds. There's a tiny garden out front and great walks from the front door: head out for a lovely walk up Allington Hill and beyond and it is an easy, flat walk to Bridport high street (about 10 mins). The cottage is fully equipped without being cluttered and has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Please note the cottage is tucked down a short walkway and there isn't a dedicated parking space - so cars park on the road in Diments Gardens or nearby.

One room on top floor with ensuite, in the heart of Bridport. Comfortable super king size bed with en-suite (toilet & bath).
Our space is quite quirky with lots of paintings on the walls. It's a very old cottage so creaky floorboards and flagstone floors. We renovated it a few years ago - there are a few skirting boards that still need painting!
Seconds walk from great pubs and cafes & range of shops, in the heart of Bridport.

Secluded character cottage in the very heart of Bridport. Compact charming town cottage, tucked away but in the heart of Bridport, a vibrant market town located only 1.5 miles from the Jurassic Coast at West Bay. The cottage features a fully equipped kitchen (see later), first floor double aspect bedroom & large bath/dressing room with WC, washbasin, bath with shower over. A range of wardrobes, cupboards & dressing table. Although very central the cottage is in a secluded quiet location.
The cottage is furnished to an attractive and very comfortable standard, is light, bright and full of character. It is ideal to use as a relaxing 'hideaway' or a base for a walking or beach holiday as there are many places of interest along the famous 'Jurassic coast' and Chesil Beach. Explore the beautiful Dorset countryside and enjoy the good locally produced food. This compact town cottage comprises: stable door to beamed kitchen/diner with small table, oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, iron & ironing board. On the ground floor an attractive wrought iron spiral staircase which is steep and narrow, so not ideal for those with mobility difficulties, opens out onto the first floor Bed/Sitting room. This double aspect, bright sunny room has a sitting area and a double bed, Smart TV/DVD/CD. Off this is a large bathroom with WC washbasin, bath with shower over. A range of wardrobes and shelved cupboards and dressing table. An iron and ironing board are stored in the cupboard, just in case you should need them. Towels, linen and toiletries are supplied as are some simple provisions just to make your first day that little more comfortable.
Bridport is a vibrant independent market town located 1.5 miles from the Jurassic Coast at West Bay. Bridport boasts many independent shops, bakers, butchers, greengrocers, restaurants, coffee shops, cafes, pubs and a town museum where you can explore the rope and net making history of the town. It also hosts its historic street markets twice weekly. Bridport has a lively cultural and arts scene with local cinema, Arts Centre and theatre. Many pubs and bars also regularly host live music. There is also a popular vintage quarter where hours can be lost browsing a veritable cornucopia of antiques and collectables. Bucky Doo Square in the heart of the town alongside the town hall is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. There are often activities taking place and the local brass band regularly play here on a Saturday morning. Bicycle hire is also available in Bridport. There are numerous attractive outdoor spaces in and around the town, such as the borough gardens, Asker Meadows and St Mary’s playing fields. There are also picturesque walks to the costs at West Bay.

Spend as many nights as you like in a bright airy double room only seconds from the bustling town centre of Bridport. Situated in a quiet friendly apartment complex. Car parking available. Owner also offers a taxi service at reasonable rate. The owner lives in.
Town centre location is handy for all local amenities. The room is great for either a single occupant or a couple. A child in their own cot could be accommodated. You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook a meal or breakfast or just help yourself to the selection of breakfast items made available. Queenie, the dog, is a real feature of the experience - unobtrusive and brings a smile to everyones face... take her for a walk if you like! :) Please be aware that the flat is on the second floor. There isn't a lift.
Bridport is a lively market town and my flat is only one minute from the town centre so convenient walking distance for everything. The regular Wednesday and Saturday markets are a must for visitors. The proximity to the coast is a great attraction as is the countryside around the town. Festivals and cultural events take place all year round including literary and film festivals, hat festival, kite festival, country fetes, steam fairs, agricultural shows, food festivals, and many others.

Welcome to our self contained south facing light and airy studio loft apartment. Situated at the bottom of the high street it is just a few yards from the river Asker & Bridport town centre's pubs, restaurants, shops & street market. Parking is very close in East Street car park, £2.80 for 24 hrs. Free roadside parking is available about 5 mins walk. Coffee/tea/bread/milk is provided for the first morning. As well as a double bed the two futons in the living area convert into double beds.
The studio faces south, so is light and sunny. It has a double bed and two double futons, suitable for children or younger adults. Apologies but we do not accept bookings for groups of four adults. There is a TV and sitting area with kitchenette and small table. There is a separate shower room. Double bed linen and towels are provided. Single sleeping bags and cotton liners are provided for guests who wish to sleep on the futons. We also have a travel cot you may use. There is wifi but no land line. Important to know: There is reduced head height in some areas & you will need to climb two sets of stairs to get to the studio, the second is quite steep.
Bridport is a lively & successful market town with plenty to see. An interesting town with many independent shops, large artisan / antique area, three theatres and a street market on Wednesday & Saturday . Bridport has many good cafes, restaurants and pubs and is close to countryside and coast. We are a 35 minute comfortable walk to West Bay harbour and beach. West Dorset has a world famous beautiful coastline with great beaches and cliffs. There are many beautiful walks from the house.

My place is close to The Jurassic Coast, Bridport arts and culture centre and artesan quarter, the beach, South West coast path, Dorset heritage . You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the neighbourhood, the décor, the people. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. There is free car park after 6pm opposite and long stay 15 metres up the street plus free spaces behind house.
Comfortable, beautifully decorated and homely. Well equipped kitchen (including nutribullet for smoothies, for your use if you wish). Large twin room
Bridport is a delightful market town close to the Jurassic Coast. The cottage is central to town centre, 1 minute walk from the centre, with 3 arts centres, Bucky Doo Square, independent shops, Waitrose on the doorstep, many cafes and bars and artesan and antique quarter and Bridport's weekly bustling Saturday market all very close. Great base for walking to West Bay and coastal paths.

A small cosy cottage, and we love living here. In the Summer the garden is full of colour - and bees are welcome! Bedroom has TV, books, DVDs, classical music CDs, and of course, tea and coffee making facilities. A light breakfast included.
This a small, non-smoking house - you will have the pleasure of the biggest room. SHARED bathroom with shower, toilet and basin, (no bath), shower all day if you want in our double sized shower. Don't bring towels, shampoo or soap as we will supply, but do bring your own toothbrush! DOUBLE BED (4 ft 6 inches) with lovely mattress on sprung wood base with a metal head and foot. TV, wi fi, wardrobe, drawers and writing desk area for your laptop/notebook/ipad; tea and coffee making facilities and a selection of classical CDs and films with a player (or a few books to peruse and maybe take with you if you want to finish one). Use of washing machine for a load if you are staying 2+ days. Please note that we are on a MAIN ROAD, although the windows have curtains and double glazing. Bed and Breakfast may be scrambled eggs on toast and fresh fruit, or maybe a bacon sandwich, fresh fruit with yoghurt. Vegetarians can feel free to tell us, and be served accordingly (I have a lovely breakfast crumble recipe!) Tea (including green, please ask) or good coffee - expresso or cafetierre. We will serve breakfast up until 9.45 am.... but you can make a special request for a bit later the night before. We are 12 minutes walk downhill to shops and pubs and cafes, and we have 4 supermarkets within 5 minutes drive. You can also get a bus right outside the house every hour which will take you to Weymouth in one direction, and Lyme Regis the other. We are less than 10 minutes drive to West Bay, or you can walk it in about 35 minutes - where you can get the BROADCHURCH experience if you are keen. Our home is 200 years plus. The doors close but there are gaps at the top and bottom! However, the double glazing works well. There's no carpet on our floors, the room is original boards - but in Winter the house is warm and cosy and we can supply blankets to add to the duvet on the bed, and of course in Summer it should never be too hot but we can supply a fan. If you look at our pictures, you will see two cats, although we only have one now. She doesn't have access to your room, but you'll see her around.
Please note that we are on a MAIN ROAD. Bridport is a small town with it's own "feel". Many independent shops, market twice a week, some good eating places. Ask me how to find your way. With a car places like Chesil Beach or Lyme Regis are easy to find. You can walk from town to West Bay on the coast in about 30 minutes.

The Terrace is a beautifully converted apartment within a Grade 2 Listed building, set in the heart of vibrant, bustling Bridport. A spacious open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area, double bedroom and large shower room provide contemporary surroundings in a period property, perfect for couples or solo travellers. Outside is our lovely, sunny roof terrace with seating and BBQ area. All the amenities of the town centre are on your doorstep, and the stunning Jurassic coast is 30 minutes walk away.
Tucked away just off East Street down a pedestrian passageway, the apartment is accessed via a code-locked gate and up an external staircase. There is a secure bike storage area on the ground floor. The apartment was converted in 2016 to a high specification. It is our home, and we love it, and when we are not staying there we hope that our guests will enjoy it too! The fully-fitted kitchen has a large gas hob and fan oven, dishwasher, washing machine with dryer, fridge freezer and microwave. All crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are available for you to use. We keep the cupboards stocked with basics such as coffee, tea, sugar etc. There is a small TV, DVD player, digital radio and broadband wifi. There are a range of books and DVD's that you are welcome to borrow during your stay. The bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower. We will provide you with clean towels and essential toiletries. The very comfortable king-size bed is furnished with good quality bedding. There are two chests of drawers, and space to hang clothes. Parking is available in nearby side-streets, or alternatively there is a paying car park a couple of minutes' walk away.
Bridport is renowned for its friendly and vibrant culture, with a thriving visual arts and literature scene and fantastic reputation for quality local food and drink. The twice-weekly street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays keeps Bridport bustling with its huge range of stalls, from local produce and crafts to antiques and much more. There are lots of lovely independent shops to explore, including the famous Leakers bakery and Bridget's Market greengrocers literally 30 seconds' walk from the apartment. Bridport has fantastic local support for its regular programme of festivals and events, such as the renowned film and literature festivals, the various music, food and drink festivals, and the annual street carnival and torchlight procession when it seems that the entire town comes out to celebrate. There is even a hat festival! Bridport Arts Centre, the Electric Palace cinema and Lyric Theatre host a flourishing programme of theatre, film, dance, music and comedy events throughout the year. The annual Bridport Open Studios event invites visitors to explore the galleries and studios of local artists, designers and makers. There are some wonderful places to eat out in Bridport, including the amazing Dorshi restaurant which is literally on your doorstep. The Red Brick Cafe in Bridport's vintage quarter is another favourite of ours. There are eateries to suit all tastes, and lots of lovely country pubs in the surrounding villages. The breathtakingly beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline is also on your doorstep. Within a few minutes walk from the apartment you can be enjoying the footpaths and admiring the views, both coastal and inland. We have a full range of local Ordnance Survey maps which you are welcome to borrow, and can give you tips on our favourite routes. The beach and harbour at West Bay are 30 minutes walk or five minutes drive away.

The Shack is of timber construction and was originally built 10 years ago for our 4 teenage (then) boys as a ‘hang out’ den! However they are all off travelling the globe now so we decided to add a shower/toilette allowing us to utilise the quirky abode that it is! We are walking distance to Westbay and Bridport Town so guests are able to wine and dine without having to drive or taxi....so many eateries and pubs are within walking distance.
You have access to the large garden and the attached decking area which has its own BBQ...just supply your own coals and just give it a clean after use.

Florence Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage in the heart of Bridport; more than 200 years old and renovated to a high standard. It is ideally located in a quiet street a few short steps from the main street shops, restaurants and pubs and a short 5 minute drive or very pleasant 25-minute countryside amble to West Bay beach and harbour. Dogs are welcome.
The cottage sleeps 2 in an extremely comfortable king size bed (luxury cotton bed linen provided). The sunny upstairs bedroom with a characterful original fireplace has ample space for clothes with a wardrobe and large chest of drawers. There is a small television with DVD player, hairdryer and plenty of electric sockets including USB charging points. The bathroom is off the upstairs landing and has a shower over a deep bath. Towels are provided. On the ground floor there is open plan beamed living accommodation with lounge/kitchen/dining area and a conservatory room (with washer/dryer, iron and ironing board) leading into a small walled courtyard garden. The well-equipped fitted kitchen includes a fridge with small freezer compartment, oven, hob and microwave with plenty of saucepans etc. to cook a full meal if you wish. The lounge area has a cast iron gas fire/stove for snuggly winter evenings, along with a smart TV with DVD, internet/Wi-Fi, USB charging points and a comfy space at the dining table for laptop use. The cottage is central heated throughout. The conservatory and garden can be used for bike storage and a picnic set is available for you to take out with you when you go exploring. Local books and maps are supplied for you to use during your stay. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided so you can have a cuppa upon arrival before venturing out to the supermarket.
Bridport is a bustling market town which has lots going on and an abundance of history to discover. Markets are held every Wednesday and Saturday and there are many festivals and events throughout the year and lots of places to eat, drink and socialise. There is a lively arts scene with a creative vibe - theatre, cinema, music, art displays and exhibitions – and an eclectic collection of vintage/retro/antique/collectable traders. The town centre is a mix of the usual high street stores and independent shops and cafes. West Bay (aka Bridport Harbour and location of TV's Broadchurch) is a short 5 minute drive away (1.5 miles) – or a very pleasant 25-minute stroll – where you’ll find the quaint harbour and stretches of Chesil Beach (“the Gateway to the Jurassic Coast”) along with pubs, restaurants, diners, tea rooms and an array of fish and chip huts and ice-cream vendors. It is a perfect base for exploring - west to Golden Cap, Charmouth and Lyme Regis and east towards Weymouth and inland Dorcester and Thomas Hardy's Wessex. There are stunning landscapes and fabulous views. Walkers - you are in for a treat! Bridport makes for a wonderful town, coast and countryside holiday or short break.

We provide two charming rooms located at the back of our 19th Century terraced house. You will have a cosy bedroom and your own wetroom and kitchen/diner with double doors leading to the secluded patio and cottage garden.
From your cosy bedroom with a double bed you step outside into the courtyard to access your own wetroom/toilet and kitchen/diner which are right next door. We provide towelling robes and slippers. Double doors open from the kitchen/diner onto your own seclued patio and seating area looking out on the pretty cottage garden. Simple cooking facilities are available and we provide breakfast ingredients: cereal, tea, coffee, milk, butter, jam and locally produced bread.
We are situated a short walk from the centre of this buzzy Georgian market town with it’s theatres, cinema and wide selection of restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs. There's plenty of live music and festivals throughout the year including the From Page to Screen Film Festival, the Literary Festival, Food Festival and Hat Festival. Bridport is surrounded by beautiful countryside and lots of beaches. The nearest beach is at West Bay one mile south of the town.

Decorated in pale grey and country florals that remind me of my Grandma's house.
The house has a private courtyard which both rooms look out on and there is a lovely view of Allington hill in the distance. The courtyard opens up through a security gate to West St. Across the road is Waitrose and to your left as you exit is Costa coffee. So you will find yourselves right in the heart of Bridport where you can watch the world go by.
We are a 15 minute walk to West Bay and right in the heart of the market Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Cosy toes is a small but perfectly formed cabin, we are situated in a quiet estate on the fringes of the historic market town of Bridport. We are a 15 minute walk from the working harbour of West Bay, which, of course, is where the award winning drama "Broadchurch " was filmed, it has plenty of good eating establishments and quaint shops. 15 minutes the other way is the bustling town of Bridport with its twice weekly markets as well as regular farmer markets, along with many local shops. The nearest pub is a 5 minute walk and the nearest supermarket is 2 minutes in the car. Nearby you have Lyme Regis, Weymouth and many other lovely places. The coastal paths offer you many magnificent view points.
I love living where I do as it is so quiet but you can literally walk 5 minutes to find fun and laughter in the local pubs and also we are surrounded by beautiful countryside, I love walking out my front door and looking across to the iconic trees on Colmers Hill, stunning.
