99 Beachy Head Drive is a BEACH-FRONT property (refer photos) from which you will be able to enjoy the most amazing Plett beach holiday. Both front bedrooms, lounge and patio face the Atlantic Ocean – perfect for coffee sunrises - watch dolphins, whales from your bedroom.
Patio area large enough for entertaining and evening barbeques/braais, with
uninterrupted 180 degree views of the bay, framed by the Robberg
Peninsular to your left and the Formosa Mountains disappearing into the
sea to your right..
Front Kitchen is fitted with all necessary Bosch appliances including double fridge, dish washer, coffee machine and ice machine.
The main house consists of 2 bedrooms: A main room with en-suite
bathroom and a guest/kids room with 3 single beds and separate bathroom.
(5 persons max in front house).
A further extension to the house exists at the back cottage comprising 2 large ensuite rooms (the 2 back area bedrooms measure approx. 7metersx7m and ~10mx7m("Ping-pong room") (both back rooms with their own bathrooms) with the option to accommodate a further family i.e. 2 adults and up to 6 children (children get air-mattresses in - please speak to me - I need to move the ping-pong table, bikes surf-boards out of the ping-pong room). This back "cottage" has its own basic kitchen, fridge etc and 2 ensuite bathrooms and also houses the washing and drying machine. It is a lower spec accommodation to the front house and does not have a sea view but is reasonably light and airy. Back area "cottage" would ideally work for a second family / guests where the group doesn't mind also sharing the front communal areas patio etc, and kids who are not fussed about sleeping on air mattresses at the back. The back Ping-pong room is usually locked for the owner’s personal storage, but can be adapted and made available for kids overflow (air-mattresses) - only by prior arrangement.
Robberg 5 beach is 100m from the house and has full-time lifeguards on duty during the season, and in peak season there is often a life guard station directly in front of the house.
Eunice lives next door (at 101 BHead) and has keys, knows the alarm , ropes..
Ping-Pong Back room is locked , off limits (unless by prior arrangement) (contains our beach toys, personal items)

SECURITY: We have had no security incidents.
House and vehicles have been safe. BeachyHead Drive has a very
sophisticated neighbourhood watch + security camera system installed. We have permanent residents next door + security deterrents (motion
sensors linked to alarm + motion activated lights). However petty crime in
Plett is a reality - so please exercise vigilance - lock the house when the
maid is not there. (We have an ADT alarm system , which we practically never use - but can be switched on).
MAID SERVICE: Eunice next door manages house in our absence. Daily maid at R250/day for your account is a compulsory house rule. Maid will organise her own transport. Maid Duties: make beds, do laundry, tidy house, do dishes, spring clean, tidy rubbish, ensure cushions, veranda is properly arranged in the morning, set tables for meals etc. House fully equipped incl dishwasher, laundry etc.
SHOPPING: Woolworths, Spar, Robberg Fisheries, bottle-store. House is well stocked with Weber gas braai (baraque) + Weber metal plate for fish braai's, latest Siemens / Bosch appliances, dishwasher, 4 fridges, Nespresso cappuccino machine.
INTERNET CONNECTIVITY: There is no fibre/ADSL line, but a wireless 3G "hot-spot"router Huawei R216 is available with Vodacom sim card - you will need to buy 5-10gig data from the Vodacom shop in town, or transfer data from your phone.. Quality of 3G service degrades in peak season. Ill provide further details by WotzApp on booking.
Final Landing Instructions for 99 BeachyHead: Print these out.. Apologies for being a little pedantic, but we have personal effects, vested interest in the house +, house isn't set up as a bullet-proof ¨Rental¨ - accordingly needs quite some TLC (but then I trust that you will enjoy it far more than a B-grade ¨bullet-proof rental¨). Please look after it as you would your own (im sure you will):
FINAL LANDING INSTRUCTIONS:
FROM BEACH: Shower outside first. Shower off sandy feet, costumes etc using hose-pipe behind the kitchen. (not inside - sand blocks the drains)
POROUS SURFACES, FABRICS, GRANITE TOPS: No sun-cream, oil , sand, chemicals, stains, wet costumes, hot pots.
YELLOW-WOOD FLOOR: No wet, sandy feet.
STOWING HOUSE AT NIGHT: (also refer detailed description)
PATIO FURNITURE: Webber Braai stowed behind kitchen outside sink at night. Cushions , Tip-Tables stowed under Patio roof at night, (Security + Dew). All tables, cushions etc stowed under patio roof out of sight from road.
LOUNGE BLINDS: Down and Closed.
BEDROOM EXTERNAL SHUTTERS: Shut + Locked. (Glass doors can be left open.)
LOUNGE SLIDING DOOR (between Lounge and Patio): barrel lock at night for security.
PATIO PERGOLA (Canvas cover): Currently broken, inoperative: Please leave stowed, don´t extend.
MAID: Advisable. Honest. R200/day. You settle her directly.
POROUS SURFACES, FABRICS: The fabrics, surfaces - in the front area in particular are going to need TLC. No sun-tan cream, oil, zinc, wet swimming costumes, sandy feet on the fabric couches, surfaces. please. Please don´t allow kids directly into the house from the beach without using outside shower / outside hose showering off sea sand, towelling off, changing out of wet costumes before sitting on sofas. (Please send kids directly from beach to back area - use hose at back of house, and back room showers + change into dry clothes please). (Shower drains get blocked with beach sand , so please hose off, use outside shower before using inside showers). Likewise no food, oily substances on couches , lounge area, sofas please. Please look after these as you would your own and be super vigilant about this please - they are expensive to replace. No hot pots on granite surfaces please - they will crack. Oak wooden surfaces are porous (treated, finished with porous ¨MonoCoat¨), and likewise susceptible to chemical / oil stains.
PATIO FURNITURE: Patio couches = great place to read, snooze, get out of the sun. Patio great for meals. Make sure staff have moves 3 tip tables and all patio furniture + cushions from back area onto patio when you arrive. Be sure to move 3 tip tables to the edge of patio on a good evening, light some candles, open a bottle of wine (as per Picture). Patio furniture, cushions DO NOT need to be moved off the patio at night (security OK), but please move the cushions under the roof. Again, please, no sun-tan oil, cream, wet baggies, sandy feet on the fabrics NB - PLEASE. All cushions must please be put under the roofed area each night (otherwise they get damp, dewey at night). We also move the Webber braai (barbecue/kettle) around to the back area at night (for cleaning the next day and for security - out neighbours once had their Webber stolen from the front of their patio (clearly visible from the road) one night many years ago. These is however an outdoor motion sensor that covers the Patio - but as previously stated we dont turn it on - because we don´t like to be woken by false alarms from the mongoose, cats that scuttle around at night - but this acts as a deterrent. There are also motion sensing lights all around the property. ONLY the Webber braai needs to be disconnected, moved to the back - feel free to leave the Webber stand and gas cylinder in the front area for the duration of your stay.

Eunice (next door maid) is familiar with its operation. Please move the Webber braai out of sight from the road - to the back area at night, and park car deep down the driveway - out of direct sight of the road. (small rental cars can also fit between front and back area - no incidents to date.. Move all Patio tables, Webber etc from the front of the patio, back under the Patio roof out of direct sight from the road at night - and out of the dew, out of the sun next day.. FEEDBACK FROM GUEST RE SECURITY: "We ended up never using the security system - it was good knowing that it was there, but we felt completely relaxed and safe in the house."
BLINDS: Please put these down at night and adjust so that any prying eyes from the road cant look into the TV area.
PATIO Pergola (Canvass cover): Currently broken, inoperative: Please leave this stowed (don´t extend), and make sure securely tied back, secured, as it ¨self-extends¨ in the wind and has previously self destructed in high wind and also broken the supporting columns, cables, wooden beams (v large sail area when extended - extremely large forces when wind gets up)
BEDROOM EXTERNAL SHUTTERS: House sometimes gets hot at night: In which case we usually leave glass sliding doors open but shut + barrel lock external louvred shutters - secure but allows air flow and sound of waves.
LOUNGE SLIDING DOOR (between Lounge and Patio): barrel lock at night for security.
BUGS: We rinse dishes off, run the dishwasher at night, every opportunity. (bugs prevalent at coast). Advise maid to spray kitchen when you go out.
MAID: Eunice lives next door and has keys, access to the house, knows the ropes. She will spruce the house before you arrive, arrange her sister / relative to clean daily - keep the house vacuumed, clean, make beds, wash sheets, towels, wash dishes, keep the house spruced. Maid @R200/day for tenants account. House rules: maid required: we need to keep the house, braai, towels etc squeaky clean (bugs can otherwise proliferate at the coast), make beds, spring clean and this will make your holiday much more pleasurable. R200/day. Please settle Eunice's sister directly . She will find her own transport. Important to keep house spruced, clean bug free on a daily basis. Please can you also help Eunice out with cleaning supplies, house basics that get consumed (consumables are for your account) (not easy for her to get to the shops - or for me to run house by remote control) - please ask her what she needs, keep house well stocked with whatever is needed .. Tks
