The coffee cabin was a wonderful retreat for us. The views are spectacular and the cabin had all the amenities of home and more. While we were concerned at first about no A/C (we're from South Texas, we must have a/c!) we found we did not need it with the open windows and cool breezes that flowed through the cabin all throughout the day. It was clean, beautifully decorated, and an overall wonderful cabin. Peace & Love. Mahalo

My friends had a great time staying at your place. I got to stop by and see it before they left. Wow! Super cool spot. Will definitely recommend this as a perfect place to stay in Haiku. I would love to take the tour sometime, sounds amazing. Thanks!

Sydney's cabin was awesome! It was the perfect amount of space and the location was amazing. We felt like we had our privacy, but could get anywhere on the island without driving too far. Beautiful Baldwin Beach, Paia, and Mama's Fish House are within 10 minutes! Sydney was very easy to communicate with and was super friendly! She met us at the cabin upon arrival and showed us around the property - super interesting history! She also came by to say goodbye on our last day, which was super nice! We would recommend this place to anyone looking to experience Maui away from some of the super crowded areas - you won't regret it. Thanks so much Sydney! We hope to return soon!

Sydney, was the loveliest, most generous host. We've stayed at mega resorts, tree houses, a horse ranch. When I booked Maliko, I thought it would be the "Quaint" leg of our journey, but it ended up being the "Magical" part. Hana was fine, but people do the Road to Hana to find mystical and meaningful places like this property. Nothing moved us or had the 'mana' like Maliko.

Sydney is an outstanding host and steward of the land her property is on. We were very warmly welcomed when we arrived and had everything we needed. In addition to towels, sun screen, insect spray, dishes, and even a blender, Sydney also had some fresh flowers and wonderful music ready for us. We highly recommend doing the tour since you get to see some incredible sites and learn the history of where you are staying, which makes it even more special. She will show you many spots that you'll be happy to revisit later! Sydney also showed us wild plants we could pick and eat on the property. There is something really special and distinct about the lighting in the home, which is really warm and relaxing. We were so thrilled to stay here for the beginning of our honeymoon.

We spent 4 nights at Sydney's cabin in the mountains. The view was amazing. It rained during our first night which caused a huge waterfall to be visible from the porch for the next few days. The cabin was very clean when we arrived with all the essentials you need for your stay. The bed was a bit stiff, but it is a king. There are lots of fans and screens on all the windows and doors, so the fact that we didn't have AC was not an issue at all. Sydney was a perfect host and she had some of her coffee and eggs waiting for us when we arrived. She gave us a great tour of the property and its history. The cabin is very well located about 10 minutes to a couple cute towns, 20 minutes to the coast and Mama's Fish House, and only 30 minutes to the airport/helicopters. We would definitely recommend this cabin. And we will stay here again if in Maui.

A slice of paradise we felt at home in this unique and charming up-country cottage. We slept comfortably through the night sounds of crickets and frogs, and awoke full of energy each morning with help from the wild roosters that roam the valley below. Our host Sydney was so gracious, she left us some of her home grown coffee and her farm fresh eggs. We enjoyed them for breakfast each day on the lanai before setting out on our travels. The property is close, but not to close to all amenities. We found a nice mix of restaurants, beaches, and scenic drives just waiting to be discovered. We were amazed by the history and culture of the area, and inspired by all the friendly people we met. Our return to the little cottage on the hillside was the highlight of our Maui vacation. We can hardly wait for our next chance to visit Syd in beautiful up-country Maui.

My favorite thing is sharing this beautiful valley with others. It started out 30 years ago as a refuse dump. For 150 years everyone dumped their garbage into the fresh-water stream from the lovely old stone bridge. My husband and I bought the property below the bridge along with the stream and all the garbage in it. For five years we hauled trash consisting of everything from old Model T Ford car frames to bags of dirty disposable diapers. The water was red, foamy and smelled terrible. But we finally got it clean and it's a beautiful stream with waterfalls, springs, caves and wildlife.

I love to build things out of found objects and re-purpose and re-use things meant for the dump. We live on a small island and need to be more sustainable. It's a lot easier to just buy what you need at Home Depot or Lowe's but it's a lot more satisfying to give something a new life with ingenuity and hard work.

I love coffee. I love growing it and I love drinking it. Also, coffee growers are a wonderful group of people. Our coffee growing community here on Maui and in Hawaii are like family. I also work as an advocate for small farmers here in Maui County.
