Casa de la Capilla is a wonderful restored old adobe home located on La Loma Plaza, updated for convenience but maintaining original charm. Relax by the fire or tour Taos sites and sounds. Walk to Taos Plaza, shops and museums!
Our vacation home is an old adobe that has been updated but has not lost its old world charm. It is located adjacent to La Loma Plaza - the first plaza to be built in Taos and filled with history.
The house is attached to the plaza chapel and is thought to have been the rectory, hence the name Casa de la Capilla.
We have outfitted our home for our trips to Taos, so you will find most every convenience you need.
Private walled and shaded front garden, fenced rear yard with teak outdoor dining area and barbeque patio outside the kitchen window all provide pleasant outdoor relaxation.
Open the front door to view the kiva fireplace warming the living and dining areas. The living space is decorated with Native American art providing our guests with that special Taos atmosphere.
The sun room includes a desk with printer, TV, and sofa that converts to queen size bed. WiFi is available throughout. The TV's are equipped with Apple TV giving you access to Netflix and many other program options.
Both bedrooms have queen size beds with fluffy pillows and comforters. The sun room is located at the back of the house providing privacy from the living area for guests using the fold out bed.
And we are PET FRIENDLY!

Our guests have full use of the home. The kitchen is well equipped with quality cooking utensils and appliances including toaster/oven, food processor, coffee maker and microwave oven.
A binder will be on the table to provide information on local restaurants, places to go, museums and galleries. It also reviews the history of La Loma Plaza and how our house is part of it all.
We typically are not in Taos when there are guests but can always be reached by phone, email or text. We also have a local caretaker who will take care of any guest needs.
You will notice when you arrive that our casa is attached to the side wall of a tiny chapel, or capella, in Spanish. The house was originally built as the church rectory as part of historic La Loma Plaza.

Casa de la Capilla will feel like home when you get there. That's because it is - it's our vacation home! And we are happy to share it with you - guests always enjoy the comfort and treat it well! Also we are child and pet friendly. The front and back outside areas are fenced and work well both for privacy and containment. Our favorite house rule is to enjoy the house and Taos in general. It's a special place with lots to offer!
My husband Don and I have been living in San Diego for over 30 years. This year we moved to Taos because we have loved the time we spent there. So our vacation home is now fully available for other vacationers. It's truly a home as opposed to a rental property - because it has been our vacation home too! So our guests can enjoy all the comfort and conveniences of home when staying here.
