Located ideally in Lancaster County, PA, this home is a great blend of a quiet, peaceful place while being close to all of the things you want to do in the area: downtown Lititz (voted "Coolest Small Town in America" in 2013), downtown Lancaster, Amish country, lots of famous outlet shopping and much more.
The house is a well-appointed townhome with a living room, kitchen/dining room, TV room, 1.5 baths and 2 furnished bedrooms. There is also outdoor seating on a front porch as well as a deck in the back of the house.
Within easy walking distance (5 minutes), there is a public park with jogging/walking trails, sporting areas and playgrounds. There are also a number of shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Guests will enjoy a private room with a full bed that accommodates 1 or 2 people. The bathroom will be shared and all amenities will be provided: towels, shampoo/conditioner, soap, etc.
Guests are welcome to make themselves comfortable in other parts of the house as well: living room, dining room, kitchen, TV room, outdoor sitting areas. I really do want you to feel like you're at home while you're here!
Some of my best travel experiences have been those that involved getting to know or staying with a local and learning about the "real" life in a place. I'm happy to do as much or as little of this for you as you would like.
If you're interested, I can tell you about great places to eat and drink, the coolest sites, museums, local events, shopping, etc. But if you have your own plans and don't need my help, that's fine too.
For the most part, I will be around and available both to welcome you upon arrival and to help when/if needed. If I won't be for some reason, I'll let you know that up front. Basically, I'm here to help you in any way that I can if you would like, but also willing to make myself scarce if you prefer to just hibernate in your room instead. :-)
There is also a cat in the house, but chances are she won't interact with you at all. Don't take it personally, she's just like that. She is a cat, after all.
While I don't make a formal breakfast, I will happily show you where everything is and you'll be welcome to help yourself to whatever you would like to eat in the mornings. I always have coffee and tea as well as a varying selection of light breakfast foods like cereal, oatmeal, English muffins/jam, eggs, yogurt, etc.
As a shared house experience, common courtesy rules apply. I'm about as chill as they come so I don't have a strict list of "Must Do or Must Not Do" but I appreciate people treating my home with the same respect and care that they would their own. You're welcome to smoke outside but nowhere inside the house. Other than that, as long as you clean up after yourself and leave it like you found it, we'll get along just fine.
I am a traveler and a teacher. I love both learning about other cultures and ways of life as well as sharing about mine with anyone who's interested. I also love meeting new people from all walks of life. I'm an extremely easy-going, relaxed and friendly person and I believe the ambiance of my home reflects that.
Having been in and through over 50 countries myself and having been the recipient of countless examples of amazing hospitality in many of them, I understand the value of the experience of getting to stay with "real people" when traveling to a new place. I hope to be able to provide that same experience for you and to help make your time in Lancaster County one to remember!
