Pomegranates is a fully furnished studio apartment for short-term stays, located in Port Melbourne, Australia.

The apartment:
•is self-contained and has all the conveniences of a well-appointed home
•accommodates two people
•is very close to the city, the beach, parks and public

It is ideal for those who seek home comforts while travelling. We are child and pet-friendly. Please read our Pet Policy below before enquiring.

Pomegranates is a studio apartment located near the corner of Williamstown and Todd roads, in Port Melbourne, an inner-city suburb 5 km south-west of Melbourne.

Just around the corner, a quiet residential beach overlooks the city and the piers. It’s a short walk along the foreshore to Beacon Cove, where the ferry to Tasmania and the international cruise ships dock. From Beacon Cove you can take a tram to the city (downtown).

From Pomegranates studio apartment it’s a short drive or bike ride to Bay Street and neighbouring suburbs that boast boutique shopping and excellent restaurants, cafes and pubs. And there are beautiful walks that start right on the doorstep.

•Easy access to public transportation with two bus lines within two blocks and the tram line (109) to downtown/city just 20 minute walk along the beach board walk.
•350 meters to Port Melbourne Beach
•2 km to Beacon Cove (Port Melbourne piers with cafes, general store)
•7 km to St Kilda's Fitzroy and Acland Streets
•6 km to Melbourne CBD (Central Business District/Downtown)
•3 km to the South Melbourne Market
•Short distance to some of Melbourne’s best cafes and restaurants in Albert Park, South Melbourne, St Kilda and the city

Apartment Features:
•Separate and private security entrance down side-way of property
•Very quiet - solid double brick walls between neighbours
•Private courtyard with BBQ and outdoor table and seating, sauna and bicycle storage shed (and 2 bikes)
•Light-filled open-plan lounge/dining area with smart (free to air) large, flat-screen TV (incl. HDMI cable)
•Well-equipped open-plan kitchen: gas hot plates and electric oven, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen also includes a number of small appliances as well as all necessary cutlery, crockery, utensils, plates, pots, pans, etc. (with essential food ingredients)
•Mezzanine bedroom with a queen-size bed, ample storage space for clothes (quality bedding - all linen provided with down feather doona/duvet). TV in bedroom also.
•Single mattress and linen and baby portable cot available on request (no extra cost)
•Spa bath with shower above bath. Towels provided
•Laundry facilities in bathroom (combination washer/dryer), clothes-airer, iron and ironing-board, hair-dryer
•Gas and wood fire heating and reverse-cycle AC cooling, and fan
•WiFi: free broadband, high-speed wireless connection
•Parking is available (off-street) in front of the property
•Light-filled apartment with no curtains (but completely private) - means unit doesn't completely black-out
•Owners on-site for 24/7 assistance and maintenance/repairs/help
•Cleaning is also available upon request at an additional cost (AUD$40)
Note: guests are expected to leave the apartment clean when they leave (stripping the bedding but leaving it for the owners to wash)
Breakfast: for guests arriving late at night, we can provide a breakfast for you for the morning after you arrive ($25 per person - ask hosts for details when booking if interested)

Check out: 11 am

Minimum Stay Policy: Minimum stay 5 nights (negotiable in some circumstances). Discounts are available for stays 1 month or longer (please contact us for costs)

Airport: 25 mins away. We can pick you up and/or drive you to the airport for a reasonable fee (AUD$50 drop off and AUD$60 for pick up [extra due to parking fee]).

Check-out: We expect the apartment to be clean and tidy when you leave; this involves cleaning all surfaces and taking rubbish to the rubbish bins. There is no need to wash the linen (towels, bedding etc) – just leave it all in a pile in the bathroom and we will wash it.

Guests can access the rear apartment through a shared side-way and court-yard, but then there is a gate to the private unit and private courtyard.

There is one off-street car park in the front drive-way for a guest car.

If your hosts are unable to greet you at check-in (if, for example, it is after 11 pm), we provide instructions for guests to get a key from a key safe next to the front entrance gate. We will give you the combination password and you can then let yourself in.

We live in the front house and there is usually always somebody home: so we are available 24/7 for assistance (recommendations, directions, help with using Melbourne's public transport system, etc). Otherwise we respect your privacy and do not disturb you.

Our Pet Friendly Policy

Additional Fee: $10 per pet, per day

We are proud to welcome well behaved and socialised dogs. While we do permit large dogs, we do not permit dogs that are registered as a dangerous breed.

If you wish to bring a dog for your visit, we need to know before you book whether you will be working during your visit and, if so, whether your intention is to leave your dog in the unit or the unit’s courtyard whilst you are away working. We generally will not agree to guests that leave dogs alone for long hours whilst they are at work, as we find the sounds of lonely and/or distressed dogs upsetting (as we live on the premises). If you do need to leave your dog alone in the apartment, please confirm that your dog will not be noisy if left alone.

We ask that guests bringing their dogs please follow these simple rules:

•Dogs MUST be house trained, quiet and well behaved
•Must be taken off premises for pet waste. Owners responsible for pet waste.
•Any repairs required due to pet damage will be at the owners expense.
•Any evidence of dogs in these areas will incur an additional cleaning fee equal to one night’s accommodation.
•When walking through the shared side-way of the property, your dog must be kept on a leash at all times.
•Any disturbances such as barking, are to be kept to an absolute minimum to ensure that the owners are not inconvenienced and upset by the distressed sounds of your dog
•Provide own dog bedding
•Provide own dog or cat bowl
•The owner reserves the right to cancel the booking if any of the above rules are breached.

Guided Tours

Hosts offer private guided tours of Melbourne and Victoria at very competitive rates. Information about the tours is provided in the unit in the Information Manual. Enquiries, bookings and payment made directly with the host.

Breakfast Option (extra cost)

Please respect our neighbours and keep noise level to a comfortable volume.

We are easily reached by email, text or phone (we live in the attached house) for any needs that may arise during your stay.

Also, please keep the unit clean and leave it exactly the way you found it.

If the unit is left excessively dirty on check out, or there is clear evidence of smoking, a $75 fee will be charged.

Yvonne's and Max's place, is very comfortable with everything you could ever think of. Was an ease to book and stay. By far the most thought out place I have stayed, A huge credit to them for creating a cool space!

We had a great time in Yvonne's place ! The place is very organized and feel like home somehow . It is very close to the pier , walking distance to few shops. Kitchen is well equipped and it has everything we need for cooking . Yvonne is also very friendly and helpful! Will definitely recommend to everyone:)

All amenities very good and instructions well set out. Heating excellent making a winter stay easier to cope with. There is free parking along the Boulevard nearer to the tram station making access to the city quite good. The 109 tram accesses most of the cbd. A good place to stay.

Yvonne is such a great host. We had a fantastic stay during our one week stay. The house has got everything you need. Fireplace was amazing + spa + sauna. Yvonne made sure we're comfortable and she just live next door very approachable but still gives you full privacy of the whole place. Thank you Yvonne and the whole family.

Yvonne and Max's place was absolutely amazing ! Would highly recommend to everyone and I will definitely be returning, location was 10/10, hosts couldn't have been more helpful or lovely ! Made sure we have everything we needed and even went to the trouble of getting us a fresh loaf of bread and milk for when we arrived, such a beautiful home 10/10 rating

The property is owned by a family of 4 (Yvonne and Max and two young adult children) and is at the rear of their family home (semi-detached from owner’s house). The owners like to rent their back unit to friends, acquaintances and friends of friends, and guests when they are not using it themselves.
