My home is a 1948 post war tract home, simple in design yet unique in style as are surrounding homes in my neighborhood.
Located near the top of a densely forested hill approximately 1.5 miles from historic downtown Astoria. An occasional ship horn and sea lions barking in the distance adds a certain ambiance to this otherwise peaceful and quiet neighborhood.
Ample off street parking is available on an oversized double cement driveway with easy access to home entrance.

I have enjoyed sharing my home with visitors, friends and family. It is because of their promptings I have decided to open my home on Airbnb. Bottom line is I really enjoy people.

Chance, a long haired Dachshund is the only pet. He is a very gentle little guy and he loves meeting people.

Because I love children and dogs it is difficult for me to draw a hard fast rule against sharing space with them too. But, space and size creates limitations.

My street is on a circular drive so vehicle noise is limited. There are great views of upper and lower neighborhoods, downtown, western horizon of Pacific Ocean, Columbia River and Megler Bridge. Easy access to main roads.

I am of retirement age but the word retired just doesn't fit me. I have too many things I still want to do and have been blessed with good health and energy. In pursuit of my dream to live near the Oregon Coast, I was drawn to Astoria by its simple lifestyle and friendly people. After many years of working in the medical field, I moved to Astoria in 2007 and it is a special place I lovingly call home.

Astoria thrives with the help of many volunteers and there are many ways to share time and talents. Currently I volunteer as a cruise ship host/greeter during the spring and fall seasons. I also am an active member of CERT (Community Emergency Readiness Training.) I love digging in the dirt and watching things grow. Decorating my home is an ongoing process along with many other varied hobbies and interests.

I have raised three sons pretty much as a single mom and they have blessed me with five wonderful grandchildren who are mostly grown. I value my family and the many friendships I have made. People who know me would probably say I am known for this quote "It is what it is".

In general I am pretty easy going and accept life as it comes to me. I enjoy meeting people and learning about different lifestyles and cultures.
