Our host Marco was great, a very nice gentleman with a lovely family. He showed us around and provided all necessary info we needed. The apartment is located within an Agroturismo, a beautiful family run wine estate with a few bedrooms and 1-2 room apartments in different buildings spread in a nicely manicured garden. The area is closed off from traffic so it provides a safe environment for smaller kids where they can freely hang around. Also comfortable parking for the car (that is essential to have if you stay here). We loved the good size pool with its pleasant temperature water. The apartment was well appointed and recently renewed on 1st floor of the main building with great views on the Tuscan hills. Nice combination of rustic country house style furniture with modern pieces. Very comfortable bed with Simmons mattress. Pictures on AirBnB show reality. Since it is within a wine estate, a local restaurant is available for breakfast that we had only once, as our kitchen was well equipped and we did our grocery shopping, but had dinner a couple of times that was great. There is also a beautiful "Community Lounge", looking like a living room of a country house with many table games, books, magazines and a bar. Location is perfect, pleasantly isolated, just 500 meters from the village where a bar, pizzeria and a small convenience store is located. Only 10 min drive away is a bigger town (Castiglione del Lago) with larger supermarkets, many restaurants and a cosy old town overlooking the Trasimeno Lake. Location is also ideal to discover the area, Cortona, Arrezzo, Siena, Perugia, Assisi are all within a onehour drive. Nearby you find two aqua parks and a large shopping outlet village, so overall there is much to do to spend a week or two, but not stepping out of the estate can be quite relaxing too. I highly recommend this apartment for families with smaller or bigger children, or even two younger couples, who want to discover Tuscany and Umbria, and would like to enjoy great local hospitality within a relaxing and typical surroundings. We hope to return soon!
