Bramley Cottage is ideally situated near many sightseeing destinations - the mysterious stone circles of Stonehenge, Longleat Safari Park, the trendy towns of Frome & Bruton and Stourhead Mansion. Bath with its Georgian buildings and Roman baths and Salisbury are just a short train ride away. Iron Age hill forts and the lovely villages of the Wylye Valley are on our doorstep. We invite you to stay with us in our cosy stone cottage while you explore the many amazing places in the area.

Our home is a lovely old two-storey stone cottage from the 19th century which gives it character and charm. Yet, it has been expanded and updated with contemporary bathrooms and kitchen so that it has modern comfort. The layout is quirky with the garden stretching out to the side of the building which belies the size of the façade of the building. The guest rooms are completely private but they are part of the main residence where we live, so
we share some of the common spaces.

About the guest rooms...

The main guest bedroom on the first floor is light and airy with a view across the road of Boreham Manor. It has an antique decor including a brass bed with a comfortable double-sized mattress. Your private detached bathroom where you can enjoy a shower or bath is just a few steps away. There are plush guest robes so you can pop across the hall easily.

One of the sitting rooms downstairs is your private space with sofa and desk for laptops or writing, but it can also be used as a bedroom for extra guests or members of the family. The sofa converts into a small double-sized bed (4 feet across) with an additional thick memory foam mattress added on top for greater comfort. Guests in this room have a small bathroom with shower off the kitchen for their private use.

A continental breakfast including a variety of breads, spreads, cereals, fruit and drinks is served in the morning. You’ll be spoiled for choice.

Coffee and a selection of tea are left by the kettle so that feel free to help yourself to a cuppa any time.

Besides their own private areas, guests are welcome to relax in the shared spaces - the main sitting room with an inglenook fireplace and wood-burning stove or in our large sunny country kitchen which opens out onto the patio and a spacious garden.

We will be here to offer advice, assistance and anything you need to make your stay with us special. We love getting to know new people but we also understand that you may prefer your privacy. Please let us know beforehand about any expectations you may have.

Please note that the 2 beds are in separate rooms on different floors. Also, the second bed is a "small double" which is 6 inches narrower than a full double. This may or may not suit your group, especially families with small children. Please see the photos we have posted and contact us if you need more clarification.

We also offer a homestay experience for English learners with opportunity for lots of conversation practice. For an additional fee, you can also take private English lessons at home with an experienced and certified ESL instructor. Contact us for more details.

We had an awesome time at this house. Plenty of space, we were able to get two room and two bathroom for three people. Breakfast is served whenever you wish to and the garden in the morning was beautiful. They were very friendly and helpful. Steve told us good way to avoid traffic to stonehenge as well as the route to Avebury from there. Would visit again

Jan and Steve were terrific hosts that we especially enjoyed and their place is lovely, very well suited to host guests. They gave us helpful advice that we utilized the rest of our trip. The bed was comfortable and the full breakfast (including several choices of fruits) was greatly appreciated. There is also a sitting room available. I highly recommend Jan and Steve's place - wish we could have stayed longer!

We laughed our way in and out of Warminster with the company of Jan and Steve. Their authentic enthusiasm for observing life, events and circumstances made for lively conversations over tea in the evening and delicious homemade breakfast buffet in the morning. Quirky, quick witted and wise are start ups to describe Steve; attentive, compassionate, and caring begin to describe Jan. They provided timely solutions to our merrier band of extended family members, one of which left behind her wallet in London. They were brilliant about making suggestions on our open route and itinerary we still had within our larger adventure. Steve and Jan suggested we travel on to Bath and then circle back to their home to pick up the package being arranged to be sent and received at their home by Royal mail. We took them up on that solution and they also volunteered to store our extra suitcases to give us breathing room for that part of our extended journey to the UK. They provided good humor, good conversation, good food, good home and shelter when we needed a little extra time and consideration. May the Prince of D and Miss Grace under pressure with our party of four always have fun and flair, health and vitality to carry forward all their dreams and aspirations as Airbnb hosts and worldly travelers themselves. Delight yourselves and share their world.

Jan and Steve are terrific hosts, and their lovely house in Warminster is just a gem. We stayed only one night on the way to Cornwall, and it could not had been a better B&B experience. It was a 5x B&B with a very friendly atmosphere.

Here's a bit about us.

Jan: I'm originally from California but spent over 20 years teaching English in Japan and am well-versed in Japanese culture and language. After meeting Steve on a fateful trek in Nepal a few years ago, I left Japan for the UK. Snowboarding is my passion but now I'm mostly into cycling instead as there's just not enough snow in Wiltshire! I love traveling abroad, especially in Asia to experience different cultures and landscapes and to meet new people. When I can't get away, I "journey" through books, movies, music and food from all over the world.

Steve: I was an advertising photographer and enjoyed mountaineering in my spare time. Retired now, I spend most of my time cycling and hiking around the Wiltshire countryside with Jan. I am full of stories of my adventures, knowledge about English wildlife and history, and fun (or so my friends tell me). Nothing is more important to me than spending time in the beauty of nature, especially in the UK. I've also trekked several times in Nepal, worked in the wilds of Canada and traveled throughout South America. That's why I tend to read and watch films about nature, adventure and travel - also, most importantly, about protecting our planet.

Our current dream is to cycle tour in Iceland and Eastern Europe.
Until we have our panniers packed though, we hope you will bring the world to us
by visiting us in our Wiltshire cottage.
