Downtown Rapid City's Public Square has events occurring almost every weekend starting in May. Check out their Facebook page for events during your stay. Most of them are free to attend and combine food, fun and entertainment for all ages.

This is a great stop, especially for families. The kids can play on the splash pad or take a walk around the local shops and get and ice cream at Silver Linings Creamery

Parking in the parking garage is your best bet if you can't find free (2hr) street parking. Now they have meters established in downtown that are only $0.50 an hour, too. Favorite store there is a "mini REI" called Roaming Around. Also, buy a guide book or novel at Mitze's Books. This is just a good place to start a downtown scramble.

This is the center of the active city life, summer concerts, granite sculptures, nearby restaurants and pubs, shops. great place to wonder around and see all the bronze sculptures of all the USA presidents.
