A grand and imposing edifice overlooking George Square, the City Chambers is an impressive symbol of Glasgow's political strength and historical wealth. Completed in 1888, the City Chambers has for over a hundred years been the headquarters of successive councils serving the City of Glasgow.

This is one of the most stunning buildings from the outside but wait till you see the interior. Free guided tours are given on a regular basis throughout the day, best to book in advance.If you appreciate fabulous architecture the City Chambers is a must

A stunning beautiful building that does tours i think twice a day. Fact.... there is more marble in the Glasgow city chambers than the Vatican. Well worth a visit.

Opened by Queen Victoria in 1888, the City Chambers have been the centre of Glasgow civic life for generations. Free weekday tours are available to see the magnificent interiors.

If you are interested in Glasgow’s history and politics, this impressive building on George Square might be the one for you! We once visited this place with a tour and definitely learnt a lot!

Opened by Queen Victoria herself in 1888, with its striking marble interiors is so spectacular that it has doubled as world famous buildings - The Kremlin and The Vatican – for film productions. Free tours take place twice daily at 10.30am and 2.30pm, Monday - Friday.
