The new landmark along the harbour is a must. You can go up to the public viewing gallery which wraps around the building and is free. Especially worth it on a sunny day. You have a great view over Hamburg and the harbour.

Right on the waterfront of the river Elbe, Hamburg is building a new concert hall – the Elbphilharmonie...worth taking a boat around it. Its an attraction, not only because it sunk millions of taxes.
