It has hosted showcases of work by artists such as Michael Dean, who was nominated for Britain’s top art award, the Turner Prize, and Jamaican illustrator Wilfred Limonious, who created a vast amount of record-sleeve art for the dancehall music scene. It’s located right next to Camberwell College of Arts—my onetime university—in a lovely old building. The gallery has a very good cafe, with delicious cakes and cups of tea and coffee. I recommend the carrot cake!
This where you'll see cutting-edge contemporary art, again very well presented with welcoming mediators to whom you can ask any questions. Great coffee place too!
Possibly, one of the prettiest and intimate galleries in South London, The South London Gallery is open most days (except Mondays… blurgh, even art dislikes Mondays) and is totally free to enter.
Great place to see some art - and the new Fire Station Gallery very near to our airbnb house, and great coffee and food
The South London Gallery offers a wide range of exhibition, events and talks, as well as activities for kids to enjoy while their parents take stock in the light and airy No 67, the gallery’s cafe and bar.
“Peckhamplex cinema is famously cheap at £4.99 all day every day; it has a retro feel that many visitors enjoy.”
