This family run San Francisco Japan Town institution is slated to close its doors March 2022. If you're lucky enough to visit before then, you should really stop by this mochi shop and get a 12 pack for yourself. Make sure you go early because it's not uncommon for them to run out by noon. My favorite is the mochi filled with blueberries or strawberries. It is DIVINE.

Wonderful handmade Japanese desserts with fresh bean fillings inside of mochi. Plus it's a lovely area in Japantown to stroll around while you have some dessert with hot tea.
