Ashford Castle in Cong and Maam is approximately a 10 minute car ride. The location where the movie "The Quiet Man" was filmed. Take a wonderful ferry ride on Lough Corrib. While you can't tour the Castle because it is a functioning hotel you can explore the beautiful grounds. FREE ADMISSION

Stunning Five star Castle recently completely renovated only 30 minutes drive and a gateway point to Conemarra. Boat rides can be purchased from the castle grounds onto the beautiful Lough Corrib.

Nice walks around Ashford Castle woods and in the town of Cong. Plenty of places to eat locally, from a formal Afternoon Tea at Ashford Castle to local pubs and other restaurants on the Castle grounds. Recommend them all.
