The San Antonio Japanese Tea Garden, or Sunken Gardens in Brackenridge Park, San Antonio, Texas, USA opened in an abandoned limestone rock quarry in the early 20th century. It's beautiful. Afterwards you can go cross the street to the Zoo or go to Brankenridge Park and ride the train.
This place is so beautiful! Be sure to check their hours of operation. Located downtown.
“The San Antonio Zoo has some amazing animals and exhibits. Both kids and adults enjoy their time at the zoo. Recently some rides from Kiddie Park were placed within the zoo and kids can enjoy them for an additional fee. The Brackenridge Park train is very close to the zoo and is a fun ride through the park.”

“This is a 7 minute walk from the place. They have some recreated Texas landscapes, a magical children's area, and some old relocated limestone/timber cabins from the Hill Country. This is one of my favorite places to walk around. Admission fee for entry.”

“Entertainment for the entire family. The Witte was recently renovated. There is so much to see and do both outside & inside. It truly is a spectacular museum. Check calendar for current exhibits. ”

“This is a huge park with the San Antonio River flowing through before it gets to downtown. The Zoo (paid admission) is in one corner of the park along with the Japanese Tea Gardens (free). ”
