Local history of the Humboldt County area. They have many interesting events as well.
Museum presenting artwork of the Pacific Northwest in a neoclassical building dating from 1902. Most of the contributions are from the great number of local artists. This place is the most fun on the first Saturday of every month for an event deemed Arts Alive!
Rotating art shows with works by some of the most accomplished local artists. Includes a gift shop downstairs.
Probably the most comprehensive museum/gallery for miles around. Has been written up in New York Times and Wall Street Journal The building itself is exquisite and hosts Eureka Arts Alive nights with music presentations of local groups.
“One of the coolest small zoos you will find. Go hike in the redwoods before or after you visit the otters!”

“This museum was locally founded in 1960 and exemplifies some of the rich local Native American cultures. They also display the history of gold rush settlements and timber industry. It's really a magnificent place to lose yourself for a while.”

“This locally owned shop is full to the brim of locally made artisan goods. This place goes beyond the idea of "souvenir stop". They have lots of unique and interesting gifts for all ages. This shop includes items like locally made candles, beauty products, artistic supplies, historical photos, singing bowls, unique musical instruments, fine jewelry, beautiful scarves, stained glass art, journals, and gag gifts. They even have corners dedicated to the Day of the Dead and nautical art.”
