This hike is about 40 miles south of Santa Fe. The views are incredible and the hike isn't too strenuous.

Breathtaking natural formations dating back to the volcanic period helped form this distinctive region. Well worth the 30-40 minute drive to experience. Be careful on warm days.

Sometimes describes as stepping into a Dr. Suess book, this is a natural wonder that is worth taking the time out to see.

The most incredible hiking around! It is literally otherworldly. Bring some cash for parking.

Tent rocks are tee pee shaped goelogic features and the slot canyon hike is amazing, very narrow canyon with hues of grey walls winding along

“Pass through Los Alamos, home of the Manhattan Project and birthplace of the atomic bomb, on your way to Bandelier National Monument where you can see the remains of the cliff dwellings that used to be home to the ancestral puebloans. Don’t miss the Valles Caldera on the way — signs of humans dating back 11,000 years have been found here. The eruption that create the caldera about 1.2 million years ago scattered rock and ash far across New Mexico and probably extinguished much of life on earth at the time. ”

“Free, easy walking trail to view ancient petroglyphs. There is usually a park ranger along the path at some point. They are always friendly and informative. ”
