150 years ago this is where the transcontinental railroad was connected. This piece of history is Utah's most recently inducted National Historic site-lots of history, and fun for the family.

Fantastic visitors center and guides who bring the history of the transcontinental railroad to life. Every May 10th there is a live reenactment of when the East and West railways met, connecting the country from coast to coast.

May 10, 1869 the Union and Central Pacific Railroads joined their rails at Promontory Summit, Utah Territory and forged the destiny of a nation. Golden Spike National Historic Site shares the stories of the people and settings that define the completion of the first Transcontinental Railroad.
