Anne was baptised here, the Lister family worshiped here, and many of the family are reportedly interred here – despite there being no sign of the family vault today. Although the exact location of Anne Lister’s grave is unknown, the remains of her broken tombstone were discovered here in 2000 after going missing for 121 years. The remains are now on display, on a windowsill on the north side of the nave.
