This is where the British surrendered to American and French forces at the Battle of Yorktown. It is amazing to stand on the same ground that many soldiers lost their lives to gain our independence.

America won its independence right here in 1781 as George Washington led his army to victory over Lord Cornwallis resulting in his surrender and effectively ending the Revolutionary War.
