A beautiful space on the top floors of the skyscraper at 20 Fenchurch Street, with tropical-looking gardens that are free to visit—but you must book ahead. It has the biggest amount of plants and the walls are all glass with a 360-degree view of the city. It’s a really special and inspiring place to explore and look out over east London and beyond. There are two restaurants and two bars up there. Fenchurch Restaurant, housed in a glass box within the glassed building, is great and really accommodating for veggies and vegans, with a special vegetarian menu, great wines, and great service. I’ve never heard music there though a live show would be great.

Sky Garden is London’s highest public garden – a vibrant social space with 360-degree views of the city’s iconic skyline. Access to the Sky Garden is free of charge, but spaces are limited. Visits must be booked in advance through their website, and can be made up to three weeks in advance. Enjoy a deliciously brewed coffee or tea paired with your choice of pastry from their daily-changing selection and watch London awake as you soak in the idyllic garden surroundings and breath-taking views across the Thames. Enjoy live music and DJ sets on specific nights, watching as day turns to night with that amazing view across London’s skyline.

Head up to this garden for free, with great views of London. Just a 15 minute walk from our flat. Get out early and avoid the crowds and no need to book a ticket. Cafe opens from 8am most days so head up and get your caffeine fix with a view.

Every body wants to go to the top of the Shard and so they should. I don't doubt for a minute that its well worth the £20 per person ticket price. However there is another really tall building in London which you can go to the top of for free but you must book in advance. It is 160 metres tall, often referred to the Walkie Talkie building because of its unusual shape and it has a lovely garden at the top. Search for the Sky Garden website for more information and booking info

Visit Sky Garden! It is a stunning rooftop to visit, it's free but you do need to book online! Make sure to check timings before planning your visit as it sometimes can be difficult to book a space. It's opposite The Shard and there are restaurants located inside.

Sky Garden has an amazing view of London, especially the Shard. It’s completely free, but you need to book tickets in advance. There are tons of beautiful plants (I.e., garden) too. Tip: book for sunset and watch the sun go down behind the skyline.
