Apart from the magnificent view of Omiš, this monument has great historical significance. Mila Gojsaić is a Croatian national heroine. She lived during the Ottoman wars in Croatia. With her sacrifice, she saved the people of Poljica and drove out the Turkish soldiers by entering the enemy's camp and setting it on fire. Every summer, the cultural event Days of Mile Gojsalić is held in her hometown.
