Pivka region is covered with 17 seasonal lakes. Their mysterious disappearance into the karstic underground world in summer gives way to marvelous meadows covered with fragrant flowers, colorful butterflies and bird songs. The variety of species is very large: 182 plant species, 211 beetle species, 106 species of butterflies and 133 bird species. The area, nature park is also an important habitat for bears, wolves and lynxes. Close to the natural park (30 min walk) there is also a museum -Ecomuseum of the Seasonal Lakes of Pivka that uses interactive and interesting methods to present an area that is one of the most diverse in plant and animal species. Suitable for families, only 10min drive.
