Another very historical site approx 20-25 min from the Castle ...that is very interesting for a range of ages.

You can hike up the mountain road or take a more rugged trail on the backside. The visitor's center has Civil War history and there are monuments throughout the park as well. Very serene and a great place for a walk or hike.

Drive or hike to the overlook and see neighboring states. Or wander through the miles of trails and find unique ruins and lots of deer and wild life. This beautiful national treasure spans three mountains, and lots of ground. Take some water and a camera. It's beautiful and historic.

Civil War battlefield. Hiking. Beautiful 360 degree views from the top. Drivable during the week. Shuttle on weekends. Cannons from the battle still on top. It took 100 men on each to pull up the mountain.

Free trails that lead you to the top of the mountains to see all of the Atlanta area. A civil war history museum is located at the foot of the mountain.
