The coffee is great and hot here. As for baked goods, I would go to Grand Central, but for a quick cup of joe, it's excellent and couldn't be closer through the back alley gate.

This sweet coffeeshop is inside the Powells books on Hawthorne. The coffee is totally fine, but we particularly love it here as a place to hang out and read books from Powells, thanks to their generous lending policy.

delicious coffee and tasty treats run by sweet portland people. good indoor/outdoor seating, wi-fi. in the land of coffee you will find many place for your caffeine fix - this should be one of them.
