The best place to access the pond to swim or boat is at the Freedom Boat landing. If you turn right on Pleasant St. you'll see signs for the post office past the town office.

We call it Freedom Pond. Boat launch, swimming spot, trails. We go here all the time. We would happily rent you a canoe!
