This place has fantastic views over Dartmoor and as well as the stone circle has a bronze age village and two bronze age bridges nearby. Go to Chagford for tea or lunch after and have a look around. The bird cage (cosy and small) has good food. So has the Old Forge Caffé (tea room)and restaurant…

A gentle 15 min stroll this gem of history is literally in our back garden. It's over 3 thousand years old and with stunning panoramic views across the open moor it is a powerful place to gather your thoughts.

15 minute drive, or 1.5 hour hike from Chagford. Discover this beautiful stone circle then walk 40 minutes to Kes Tor rock, passing over 2 clapper bridges.

“This is more about the location than the food. Right in the middle of Dartmoor and great on a sunny day sitting on the benches outside with direct access to the moor and stunning views. Not very family friendly as children have to eat in the adjoining room that is not very attractive but the main pub is very old with a fire that has been burning since the 19th century (apparently). ”

“Lovely food, open fire in the winter. Great for lunch, dinner or a hot drink after a long walk. There is a lovely courtyard at the back for hot summer days. ”
