Bloodlust: Mysteries of Victorian Boston
Explore a true crime murder mystery in quaint, post-Civil War Boston.
In the late 1800s, Boston experienced a rash of gruesome murders and unexplained phenomena. People were accused of being witches and vampires, and of conversing with the dead, all while a serial murder lurked just out of sight.
Looking for a time that isn't listed? Send me a message and maybe we can work something out.
While we made pioneering strides in the new fields of forensics and toxicology, we hosted mad scientists and psychologists who treated the mentally ill in unsavory ways.
The background for a number of historic movies and shows, the country’s largest Victorian neighborhood, the South End is all within a few blocks of Copley Square and Back Bay.
Buried beneath this neighborhood's eye-catching English gardens and breathtaking brick rowhouses, the Gothic churches and strange statuary that tourist rarely see, is a unique experience you won’t want to miss.
There will be some graphic discussion of violence and murder. Participant discretion is advised.
Sail on the Schooner Fame of Salem
Haul up the sails! Take the tiller! Or just chill out with a local craft beer while our historic schooner slides through Salem Sound past lighthouses, forts, and waterfront homes. The captain and crew will explain the significance of the FAME, privateering, and the War of 1812. The firing of the cannon is always a highlight!
We'll motor out from Pickering Wharf in downtown Salem and call for volunteers to help raise the sails. Depending on the wind, we may shape a course toward Beverly, Marblehead, or head straight out toward the islands!
Our interactive crew point out landmarks, explain the operation of the schooner, and mix drinks with equal facility.
The sails last roughly an hour and forty minutes. When we return to Pickering Wharf, you're right in the heart of downtown Salem — perfectly placed for a meal, a drink, or a stroll!
Note:
We will not sail if steady rain, high winds, or thick fog are expected; you will be refunded. Message us if you are unsure about the forecast. Dress for the weather — you are exposed to the elements on our 1812 schooner!
This trip is NOT appropriate for infants or toddlers. But once kids are 4-5 years old, they really enjoy it!
The schooner is certified for 49 passengers plus crew, but since 2021 we are sailing at 60% capacity, which means there will be a maximum of 29 guests on your sail.
The Revolutionary Story Tour
An epic half day city tour weaving the main events, characters, and landmarks of the American Revolution into one complete and compelling narrative. Most tours walk the Freedom Trail geographically – starting at one end and following it to the other. This tour walks Boston chronologically - the sightseeing is synchronized with and unfolds to the storytelling, bringing the characters to life and recapturing the energy that invented America. We also don't limit ourselves to "just" the Freedom Trail but explore all the original neighborhoods including the Financial District, "Little Italy", and Boston Harbor.
Awarded Boston Magazine's Best Historical Tour 2022.
A coffee / restroom break and the opportunity to enter Faneuil Hall (if it's open to the public) is built in.
There are no actors, costumes, scripts, or kitsch. The history is meticulously researched and includes insights from top scholars but presented with light-hearted humor and enthusiasm so neither beginners nor hardcore history buffs will be disappointed.
We cover both the major sights and the hidden gems; extensive visual aids and props help you grasp the material; and you'll enjoy the charm of the original neighborhoods while getting a sense of the beautiful and booming modern city as well.
The tour is orientated towards adults, but enthusiasm of all ages is welcome.

Pizza, Beer, and Paul Revere
We start off in Bostons historic North End, other wise known as Little Italy, home to amazing history and unbelievable pizza!!
We’ll make our way through cobblestone streets and back alleys, seeking out brick oven pizza and super locals only style bars, while checking out Paul Reveres old stomping grounds.
I’ll show you the locals only version of our city, the awesome little nooks and crannies, small bakeries, hidden history, and fantastic views that most major tour companies can’t get into, because of their large group size.
I know when I travel, I typically ask the concierge or Airbnb host where THEY go out for a beer and to get a bite.
My whole reason for doing this tour is to share with you, the city that I love. The nuance and locals point of view.
I hope you come grab a slice and drink a beer!
Note: As we move into the winter season, this tour will continue to run every day at noon. One of our stops includes having a slice of pizza outside. While not a big deal in the summer, it can get pretty chilly, so all parties should make sure to dress warm!!
