Eight Lakes Spectacular Afternoon Tour
Come and spend the afternoon with me and we will explore 8 of the most spectacular lakes in England. I've spent many years getting to know this beautiful place, inside and out, and I can't wait to share it all with you. Travelling around in a small minivan with lots of stops, you'll soon get a sense of the place. I'll take you to secret spots you would never find by yourself and tell you about the legends of the Lakes and the stories of the people who have lived, loved and worked here. Climbing over mountain passes, diving down into valleys and uncovering over 500 million years of history, you'll see why this is one of the most visited places in England.

Then we will head into the forest yoga yurt for a 3 hour workshop in 'Embodied Yoga' where we will move through both yin yoga for the connective tissue and yang (muscular) yoga to tone the whole body. We will have some fun with vinyasa flow to music and end with a deep relaxation. If the weather is nice we will also have our practice on the yoga platform, a purpose built platform overlooking the lake! This 3 hr workshop is for 2 to 6 people, so perfect with a friend. The Ingleborough mountain loop a guided trail walk
We begin by meeting at the stunning waterfall viewing point by the church at Clapham. Then we head past the caves up to the famous Gaping Gill. We then progress up to Ingleborough summit where the views across Morecambe bay and the two peaks that make up the three peak challenge, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent are spectacular! This is followed by a descent to the remarkable limestone formations, rejoining the trail back to our starting point by the waterfall. Throughout the tour there are plenty of opportunities to pause to capture photo’s and take in the stunning views.
Sunrise from the summit of Helvellyn
After meeting we will discuss the day ahead, check equipment and ensure we have everything needed for a safe ascent of Helvellyn. With head torches switched on we will begin our climb of Helvellyn. On a good but rocky mountain path we will zig zag up bracken covered slopes until we reach the subsidiary peak of Lower Man. We will then follow the ridge to the summit of Helvellyn. We will arrive at the summit just before dawn as the dark fades and a golden light bathes the far reaching views. From our lofty perch we will see the sun burst over the horizon, rise in to the sky and transform the landscape. Illuminated mountain slopes will glow with colour, deep shadows will highlight shape and form and we will feel the warmth of the new day. There will be plenty of time for photographs, a hot drink and snack before we begin our descent. During the day we will hear about local tales and legends, discuss mountain features and look at the wildlife. Providing you with a rich and memorable experience.

Meditate with horses
A brief but inspiring discussion on meditation and why we do it with horses will motivate you to be dedicated and vigilant in your practice. Then we go and meet the horses and I will teach you the basics in animal meditation. Then we groom the horses; this is the best way to get the horses to accept you as herd members as they bond by grooming each other. As we start to meditate, the more stable, connected and balanced the client, the easier it is for the horse to step into his role of soothing, regulating, teaching and inspiring with his gentle and peaceful energy. Often the horses will lie down and we can get down on the grass with them and be close and connected. We work on touching the horses in specific areas and watching for significant reactions to detect connection. There is often an opportunity to test your connection by asking the horses to follow you without a lead and then you can take a little walk together. We often finish with a beautiful guided meditation which will be chosen depending on the specific needs of the client. We always end the session with gratitude and a big horsey cuddle. Other things to note In the summer there may be flies. Bring sun hats and sun cream. Wrap up warm and water proof on winter and please wear wellies or firm boots. No experience of horses or meditation needed but please arrive with an open heart and an open mind.

Small boat sailing adventure
Set sail on SY Sea Pig and explore Windermere in a boat that perfectly suits the lake setting. Sea Pig is an adventure boat, a small boat built to make exploring a wonderful experience. After a quick briefing, we will be straight onto the water and off for the day exploring the lake, and learning to sail the boat. How much you want to learn and how much you want to be guided is up to you; this is about fun and exploration. This is a hands-on experience with everyone who wants to; getting to helm (steer) and handle the sails. In fact, your instructor will only likely steer for a tiny proportion of the day because this is about you getting all the fun. Sea Pig is a quick modern mini day cruiser which means she's nimble and capable both fast and stable. Lunch is provided and is either offered at anchor, on a beach (water levels dependent), or we can stop off at a public jetty to access toilets.
Canoe Expedition with open fire cooking
After a short introduction, we get on the water for a journey north, up Lake Windermere in Canadian Canoes - these can be stabilised if it would benefit the group or the weather is challenging. On the way you experience the profound shape of the Lake District Mountains rising up as we travel from the flatter coastlands towards the high hills. We make landfall at a piece of isolated land sticking out into the lake where we set up our day camp, learn to light fires from flint and cook our own three course lunch on the beach surrounded by trees and water. Depending on conditions and needs we have a fantastic motor boat that can accompany us, this gives a great platform for equipment transport, can bring wheel chairs (wheel chairs just roll onto the front ramp), whizz someone back to a specialist toilet and the ability to take the group home if we're late leaving. We don't always bring it - we make a judgement depending on the needs of the group and conditions. The actual event order is somewhat weather dependent and we will discuss alternative options for challenging weather nearer the time. Other things to note: We can accommodate a vast range of additional needs. We do however need some notice so we can bring the right equipment and plan accordingly please inform us of any additional needs before booking so we can discuss how best to make your experience great.
England's Largest Lake by Canoe
This is a canoe introduction and coaching day. After a short briefing, we spend our time on the water firstly getting confident and learning the basic manoeuvres before setting out for a longer period of practice undertaking a short journey. The provided lunch is eaten on the bank with hot drinks and a lesson on tarp and paddle shelters will be included if the weather is poor. In the afternoon we journey back to near the start point and look at what to do if things start to go wrong (getting wet is optional but a great idea if you are thinking of using canoes alone). This is the first day of a 'Learn to Canoe' weekend, book onto Day 2 for a much longer journey and woodland cooked lunch expedition. Other things to note We pride ourselves on being open and accessible but we do require some advanced notice to plan adaptations and support - and to bring the correct equipment. We run open sessions which may be a mixture of people with or without disabilities. If you would prefer a private session this is fine.

Canoe sailing - A real buzz on the lake
Canoe Sailing is a form of the sailing base on the hull of an open or Canadian canoe. An international racing class with a wacky race vibe. Canoes are fast because they are light and slippery despite their very simple construction. We will work together to set up the boats and explain how the different parts work. Then we will launch the boats and tow them to a safe starting point for a quick familiarisation sail before lunch. After lunch and a little more technique coaching its back on the water to try to sail the boats in all the wind directions.

Bays & Beaches of Ullswater by Kayak
Ullswater, quite rightly, is considered the most beautiful of the big lakes. It features bays & beaches, islands and lots of scenery. The ethos on the trips is always the same. Enjoy the scenery, have a chat, pass on a bit of knowledge to, and learn from, people looking for a similar venture. The first thing we'll do is sort out what's needed for the trip and introduce the boat. We use double ( tandem ) sea kayaks, unless there is an odd number of people on the trip, then the single is available. This is followed by a quick brief on what to do, then it's on to the water. There's no set route or furthest out point. I'll always take the group and the conditions into consideration. There is beautiful scenery all along the lake. The centre we launch from is closed on Tues & Wed from Sept - Dec ( We still launch from there ) so please use the toilets across the road from the gate. They are 50p & contactless. Free ones are a few minutes walk away. Be aware that if you have a BMI of 26 or over, weigh over 102 Kg ( 16 Stones ), or have very little upper body strength, this Experience is not for you.

Breath work and assisted wild swim
Breath-work and wild swimming in Rydal is an excellent way to relax and reconnect to nature. Breath-work is a practice that helps to bring awareness to the breath, allowing for a greater connection to the body and mind. It can also help to reduce stress and anxiety. Rydal water is the perfect place for an introduction to Wild swimming. A peaceful yet invigorating experience, allowing swimmers to connect to the natural environment and enjoy the calming and refreshing waters of the lake. Beatrix Potter Half-Day Tour with an Expert Guide
We'll step into the world of Beatrix Potter. Starting from her earliest experiences in the Lake District, where she fell in love with the stunning scenery and her future husband, we'll follow in her footsteps visiting the farm where she lived and explore her favourite places. Wray Castle is where we will start to take in the views she saw on her 16th birthday here and discover what it was that inspired her lifelong passion for the Lake District. Next we'll visit Hill Top, the house where she lived, still just as she left it, a magical, atmospheric place. As we stroll through Sawrey, the village she made her home, her books will come alive with the illustrations of Tom Kitten, Jemima Puddleduck and familiar buildings that leap straight off the page and into the landscape around us. We'll explore the charming village of Hawkshead where her husband worked as the local solicitor and see some of the huge Monk Coniston estate that she bought for the National Trust. Travelling in a comfy mini-van with air con, Wi-Fi & phone charging ports as one of only 6/7 passengers you will find it is easy to ask questions and join in the conversation (if you want to). There are lots of stops for photos. We will have stunning scenery all around us from beginning to end on this tour which also has a wealth of fascinating facts and stories which I'll help you to discover on our time together.

Hunt, forage and feast
We have been providing magical woodland experiences for 12 years. We love the way people are at their absolute best when in awe at the abundance of nature and mystified by their beautiful surroundings. Our Woodland Craft and Foraging Adventure will take you on a journey of education, connection and access; to the better observer of how you walk through the world. We will take you walking amongst the hidden gems of Rydal, one of the most beautiful parts of The Central Lake District. The walk will be 2 miles of nature identification and admiration through the eyes of a scholar. You will see waterfalls and plunge pools, lakes, mountains, streams and beautiful trees, plants and wildlife. We will then set up a bushcraft camp with a view. You will learn how to light a fire to cook on, some survival skills and making your own kit and craft. I will teach you how to cook a delicious lunch from the things that nature provides that will fill your belly and feed your soul. Connection begets connection and feeling your full participation with Mother Earth will open you up to bonding with the group and experience as a whole. Friends and memories will be made that you will treasure, always.
