All along the pristine coast of Central California, many species of delicious edible seaweeds exist. Kelp is some of the most tasty and nutritious of wild superfoods! I will meet participants and take them to seldom visited local spots and teach them basic phycology (marine algae science) and sustainable harvesting techniques. Not only will participants partake in a unique experience surrounded by breathtaking scenery, but they will leave with the knowledge of how to sustainably harvest nutritious seaweed for themselves for years to come. We make an amazing seaweed Ramen in the traditional Japanese form at the end. Other things to note I WILL SEND YOU EXACT LOCATION AFTER BOOKING > We will be harvesting edible seaweed. Unlike land foraging, there are no toxic seaweeds to worry about. We will show you how to tide pool with minimal impact upon the marine environment. During this 90 minute personal pottery lesson, I will teach you the basics of wheel throwing. I will first start with a short 5-7 minute demo on the wheel, giving a narrated, step by step process of throwing. After that, the rest of the hour is yours to throw! If you decided to bring a friend you will be throwing right along side each other. You will be given 2-3 one pound balls of clay to throw and attempt to make any vessel of your choice. Throughout the hour I will be your guide, helping you along the way. The goal is for you to learn, have fun, create and have something that lasts a lifetime. At the end of the lesson you will pick which of the two pieces you want fired. Any additional pieces are $8 each to cover the cost of time, supplies and shipping. After the lesson is over, the ceramic process is not done. I will then trim, fire and glaze your piece, and ship it back to you within a 4-5 week period. Packaging and shipping IS included in the price within the U.S.A. An additional charge will be added if shipping out of the country. We will start at the bottom of the hill, before entering private property. The land owner is VERY friendly and loves sharing his property with people that can enjoy and respect his land. I will guide you on the hike while talking about my knowledge of the area. The views from the top are the best aerial view of the town. I can also be your personal photographer and carry your water and snack. I will carry a backpack and bring some extra drinking water. I also carry a limited amount of security and first aid supplies, just in case. PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF IT SAYS THE DATE IS UNAVAILABLE. I MAY BE ABLE TO CORRECT THE CALENDAR. I often bring my 5 year old son who can hike this hill faster than most of us. He is very well behaved and won’t slow us down. (Most of my reviews are actually about him.) Other things to note: Remember that we will be in the wilderness. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and I usually wear long pants. Please check the weather forecast before booking. Sometimes it’s windy, sometimes it’s foggy but still a good hike. Hike is rain dependent and I will refund for rain if requested (not wind or fog) although I am happy to hike in the rain as well. While this technically private property, it's known to locals so there's always a chance we may see 1 or 2 other people up there.

We'll begin class with breath work, prayer, and biblical scripture reading. As we flow through the physical postures, you’ll be invited into a unique worship experience that integrates your whole heart, soul, mind, and body. I will hold space for you to "be still and know that He is God", I will play God-honoring worship music during class, share spirit lead scriptures and encouragement. The class will wrap up with an extended time of deep relaxation, silence, and a personal blessing. After the class has concluded, we will take time to enjoy our surroundings and reflect on our experience. You are welcome to stay and enjoy the view for as long as you’d like. We have two experienced riding instructors on our 173 acre working horse ranch, located near many of the top-notch wineries. We have been offering lessons to the community and also Airbnb vacationers for over three years. We have amazing smaller horses for the kiddos and older gentle horses for adults.

This pottery experience! The pottery studio is located in San Luis Obispo where we teach classes and offer workshops in sculpting , hand building and paint parties . Each guest will throw on the pottery wheel! You will make two pieces. A cup, and a bowl. It takes clay a week to dry and go through the first fire , then glaze and fire again. We will glaze your pieces in the colors you choose and ship them to you with an extra fee. I have an Airbnb apartment in SLO and a private pottery studio right outside of the apartment! It's available for rent monthly , this could work well for an artist in residence for someone who wants to really learn more techniques in clay.

Its challenge and personal reward and individual achievement by just getting out there is just amazing. And it's pretty much the coolest sport in the world. I'll take you and your group (if you have one) out to the local beaches and teach you the safety and fundamentals of surfing. This is an activity that is a strenuous exercise, so you should have a pretty good level of fitness before we go out, but the reward when you do get your first "a-ha" moment is amazing. Try it. You'll be glad you did. And you'll probably be surprised at how well you do on your first time surfing. Other things to note All you need to bring is a swimsuit, sunscreen, a bottle of water and big smile!

We can easily power up hills to views and zip up close to all the best attractions. The Sea Wall, Morro Rock, The otters, State Park and so much more! We start by giving a brief bike overview and training at our shop before taking off on the tour. Confident biking ability is required. The bikes are just like riding a normal bike except you wont get tired and you can go much quicker! Once we are feeling ready the guide will then lead you out on a 2-3 hour tour! During the tour you will have time to step off the bikes, take photos and check out the attractions! By the end of the tour will have circled almost the entire city and seen all of the beaches!

We will stop at an idyllic location at the vineyard where I will put together a picnic comprised of cured meats, an assortment of cheeses, and a bottle of wine. Enjoy the breathtaking sunset views with great company before concluding with a drop off at the starting point.

Each guest will choose three bisqued ceramic pieces ready for glazing. Glaze will be supplied along with instructions on how to apply. After glazing, pieces are placed in the kiln ready to Raku. This process is the rapid firing of ceramic pieces. While the pieces are being fired, the guests will be outfitted with gloves and instructed on how to pull their pieces from the kiln with the tongs. When the kiln reaches optimum temperature, the lid is lifted exposing red hot pieces. The guests will remove pieces from kiln placing them in combustion chambers. After pieces are removed from chambers and cleaned, the guests will get to keep them in memory of their visit to the beautiful Central Coast. Even though the Raku experience is spectacular at night, it is equally amazing during the daytime. Please contact us if you would prefer an afternoon experience. Due to the unpredictable nature of the Raku process, results may differ from desired expectations. There are a variety of factors involved which can greatly affect the outcome of each piece of pottery; it is more important for the participant to enjoy and involve themselves in the creative process. Although Raku is a fun and exciting process, guests must be able to follow instructions and work in concert with each other while pulling ceramic pieces from a hot kiln. Great for birthdays, anniversaries and date night.

Join Taste of SLO for a walking tour of four unique destinations created to give you a personal Taste of SLO. Destinations include: French Style Rotisserie Meats, Local Produce, Sparkling Wine, Fair Trade Chocolate, California Pub Grub, Speciality Cocktails, Thai Food, Seafood, etc. The tour lasts for about 3 hours, and covers a total of 1.5 miles. This tour is suitable for all ages. For non alcoholic tour guests, you will enjoy speciality non alcoholic drinks (not just water!). You'll stroll down the "Mojo" (Monterey/Johnson) district of Uptown San Luis Obispo, while learning about the local food culture, current economics and fun city facts. Other things to note: Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions. We recommend comfortable walking shoes, and a layer as evening temps drop quickly.

When you enter glasshead studio, you will notice the large workspace for you and your group to create your fused glass project. Once we are all acquainted, you will learn the basic skills on how to use the cutting tools, and how to arrange the glass for a proper fusing. You will have a variety of glass to use to create your fused glass plate or bowl. We begin with a clear glass base and from there your imagination can run wild. Whether it is an abstract design or a specific drawing; you will have 2 hours to enjoy creating with a variety of shapes and colors of compatible glass. We use Bullseye glass which is of the highest quality and standard. After your pieces are completed, they will be fired overnight in the kiln. You may choose to have your glass piece slumped into a plate or bowl mold, or left flat as a tile. The slump will require a second firing. The overall return time is 3-4 days.
