My favorite coffee shop in the city. They have a quiet study room, along with a main seating area with plenty of art and conversation. The coffee and other drinks are delicious, they have local baked goods, and there is usually a food truck or two on the weekends.

Wheat Penny tends to focus on their pizza, but they have a variety of other meal options including steak (or cauliflower steak) and delicious lasagnas. Their cocktails are also great - this is my favorite whiskey sour in town! Popular date and group outing location. They also have a great, slightly more upscale sister restaurant, Meadowlark, but that is about 30 minutes from the house.

Dublin Pub - hangout for college kids and middle-agers alike. Always packed. Full bar, patio space, live music on most weekends.
Hole in the Wall - crowd tends to be 25 and under. Has a few free arcade games, cheaper drinks, and a really casual space.
Blind Bob's - frequent live music, my favorite bar food, very casual atmosphere (your server will disappear for a 15 minute smoke break but you'll be busy drinking and starting conversations with strangers).
Toxic Brew - local brewery that lets you bring in your own outside food. Small front patio.
