Aldi Torrox is just next to the Lidl. It is actually directly opposite the bus station and the taxi rank, so ideal shopping if you are using public transport. Just a few minutes drive back to the villa. You can walk there, but a bit too far to carry heavy shopping back! Great selection of products at great prices.

ALDI

Just a few minutes drive back to the villa. You can walk there, but a bit too far to carry heavy shopping back! Great selection of products at great prices.
This is a bit further along Torrox Costa. Ideal if you have a hire car. There are also 2 further stores in Nerja. Great selection of produce, reasonably priced. Great fresh fish counter. Where the locals shop.

Great beach restaurant, just across the road on the beach opposite the house. Chill out beds, cocktails, fresh local food, DJ’s some nights, live music. Non-stop kitchen. Great vibe.

Great new bar, cafe, pub located just at the end of the road from the villa. Great vibe, live music several times a week, flamenco nights. Super drinks menu, ice creams, coffees, bar snacks only. Sea views, right on the doorstep next to the communal pool. Open from 3pm daily.

Little gem of a cafe, next to the lighthouse, Avenida El Faro, Torrox. Fabulous food and cakes. We particularly love it for breakfast, superb fresh juices and smoothies. Equally nice for afternoon coffee and cake!

We had very good lamp chops for 14€ and a bottle of cava for 12€! They have a good selection of typical Spanish cuisine, jamón, fresh fish, gambas al pil pil as well as meats. There is no need to book, you can just walk in, they are closed on a Friday though.
Venta El Peñoncillo

El Ingenio shopping centre is only 15 minutes drive from the house. Good selection of Spanish stores, Mango, Zara, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, H&M etc. It has just had a total refurbishment and has some great shops, cafes and dining and cinema with films in English. There is also a big Carrefour. Lots of sports and clothing shops as well as a big Dunnes Stores.

City/town information
Nerja is a pretty coastal town just 5 minutes from El Penoncillo. It has beautiful beaches, Burriana Beach being the largest, with a selection of restaurants, bars and chringuitos. The quaint streets are perfect for an evening stroll, with an abundance of tapas bars and restaurants to choose from. There are small boutiques and gift shops along the way and of course no visit to Nerja would be complete without a visit to the famous Balcon De Europa, the southern most tip of Europe. A stroll along the palm tree lined balcony offers incredible panoramic sea views. Take in the view whilst having a drink or a coffee, watch the world go by, have your caricature drawn, or enjoy a delicious ice cream alongside the glorious El Salvador church.
