Take a break from the city without traveling too far out, the pentland hills are a 20 minute drive or bus journey away. A walk up from Hillend gives a great view of Edinburgh, carry on further and you'll think you are many miles from civilisation. Can get the number 4 bus on Dalry road that takes you to Hillend.
